Student answer (Band 5.5)

There are my drugs which should be banned in world one of them is smoking, because popularity of smoking is getting highped everyday among youngstars. So I am tottaly agree with this statement, that smoking should be banned, because it creates serious health issuses and problem among smokers. Which will be discussed below in upcoming paragraphs.

On the one hand, the smoking is getting popular among young stars. They do smoking to look cool in society, but they do not know but kind of health impact it creates on them, such as lungs failure and asthema and others. Smoking not only creates impacts on person who smokes the criggreate, but also creates impact on others who are standing near of that person which is called passive smoker. Although, the smokers are making his life on risk, they also making equal impact on other life who just did nothing. For example, the study showed that the passive smoker has 50% impact of his body, because he is just standing next the smoker, because he or she just sniff the smoke which has been released by smoker.

On the otherhand, why it should be banned, because every year large amount of people dies due to smoking. For example, study showed by oxford university illustrates that the 20% of people reported as same problems which actual smoker have even they did not touch the any kind of smoking substance, because his friend dod smoking they were only part of that activities. So government should start campings to for are doing smoking to quiet it, also sell the products which help them to stop smoking. Due to this reasons smoking should be banned.

In conclusion, the smoking is large problem to solve which take lots of people lives every year and their families face problem in future. To solve that we should start campaings and say people queit the smoking.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of banning smoking. The ideas are relevant, focusing on health risks to both smokers and passive smokers. However, the development is somewhat limited. The arguments rely on generalized claims rather than specific, well-supported evidence. For instance, the mention of '50% impact' and '20% of people' lacks context or clear logical connection to the argument. While the position is consistent throughout, the essay would benefit from more depth in explaining why a total ban is the most effective solution compared to other public health measures.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a specific focus. There is a logical progression from the introduction to the body paragraphs and the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. Phrases like 'On the one hand' and 'On the other hand' are used, but the transitions between sentences within paragraphs are sometimes abrupt. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the phrase 'the 20% of people reported as same problems which actual smoker have', which makes the flow of information slightly disjointed.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks precision and variety. There are frequent errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'highped' (increasing), 'youngstars' (youngsters), 'criggreate' (cigarette), and 'campings' (campaigns). These errors are noticeable and occasionally impede the reader's understanding. The range of vocabulary is limited to basic terms, and there is little evidence of an attempt to use less common or more sophisticated lexical items to express complex ideas. Improving spelling and learning correct collocations would significantly enhance this score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but grammatical accuracy is a significant issue. There are frequent errors in subject-verb agreement ('the smoking is getting popular'), article usage ('the 20% of people'), and sentence construction ('There are my drugs which should be banned'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the high frequency of errors requires the reader to work harder to interpret the intended message. More attention to basic grammar rules and sentence structure is necessary.
