Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this Contemporary era, many people are consuming serious smoking in their everyday lives which lead to health disease and other problems too. Nevertheless others are enjoying by drinking. From my perspective, it should be illegal and cause illness also. Furthermore this essay will provide meticulous information about this notion.

To Commence with endorsing side, the most prominent one to prove my view is, Smoking can effect the health of mankind and lead to disease. To exemplify, 90% of the individuals who drink smoke has been suffering from heartattack and cancer and admitted to hospital immediately. Moreover, another noteworthy point is it should get ban and made illegal for those who not only sell but also who consume. For instance, In Dubai, illegal products like Tobacco and Pan Masala is strictly prohibited in their nations to make or to sell in any parts of their cities.

In Addition to this, the another consideration is, it can affect the mental health too. For example, 2016's archaelogical data stated that people who are consuming smoking are not able to control their mind and can get sleep for more than 20 hours like a deadbody.

On the Contrary side, Few individuals feels that it will be thier reason for happpiness when they feel low and depression. To precise this, Mostly people can get their heartbreak due to some reasons, and after to overcome with it they started to drink illegal products like cigarette and all.

To recapitulate from above arguements, i firmly believe that it can cause more health isues and resulting into end their career and not able to fulfill their family dreams

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position that smoking should be made illegal due to health risks. However, the development of ideas is limited and frequently shifts into confusion, such as discussing drinking instead of smoking, or presenting implausible claims like people sleeping for 20 hours like a dead body. Furthermore, the confusion between smoking and drinking (e.g., 'products like Tobacco and Pan Masala is strictly prohibited... to drink') weakens the overall task response. While all parts of the prompt are addressed, the support lacks logical consistency and relies on over-generalised or exaggerated data. This performance aligns best with Band 5.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The essay is divided into paragraphs, which provides a basic organisational structure. However, the logical progression is frequently disrupted by abrupt shifts and confusing transitions. For instance, the transition between paragraphs often feels forced or irrelevant, such as moving from smoking to mental health via unsubstantiated claims. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often inaccurate or mechanically applied (e.g., 'To Commence with endorsing side', 'To recapitulate from above arguements'). Paragraphing is attempted, but internal cohesion within paragraphs is faulty due to awkward referencing and unclear relationships between ideas. Overall, the essay demonstrates some organisation but lacks clear overall progression, fitting the Band 5 descriptor.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

The vocabulary range is limited and minimally adequate for the task. The student attempts some less common vocabulary, such as 'meticulous', 'archaelogical', and 'prohibited', but these are often used inaccurately or inappropriately in context. There are noticeable lexical errors and odd collocations throughout the text, such as 'consuming serious smoking', 'health disease', and 'heartbreak'. Spelling and word choice errors, such as 'arguements', 'thier', and 'happpiness', occur regularly. While the general meaning can usually be discerned, the lexical limitations and inaccuracies frequently cause difficulty for the reader, placing this response firmly at Band 5.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but attempts at complex structures are frequently faulty and laden with errors. There are frequent grammatical mistakes relating to subject-verb agreement, article use, and prepositional phrasing, such as 'products like Tobacco and Pan Masala is strictly prohibited', 'effect the health', and 'after to overcome with it'. Punctuation is also problematic, with missing commas and incorrect capitalization. These frequent errors cause considerable difficulty and strain for the reader, matching the profile of a Band 5 performance.
