Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no denying the fact that hundreds of people are dying on daily basis as a result of smoking around the world . It should be banned as it causes uncurable diseases. I am partially agree with the statemet and will explain in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with , smoking is dangerous for health and is available easier everywhere and not much expensive and people smoke for unnecessary reasons .For example , it is observed that 80% of corporate employees start smoking after joining the company and lebelled it as stress buster from heavy workload . This is a place where it looks like need and not any habit so it should be banned .
Moreover , not every smoker usually throw the waste in bins which become a major cause of garbage on city roads and government have to spent more taxpayers money to keep the streets clean . For example , small debris of cigarretes can be noticed easily in downtown areas in sidewalk where there are no special smoke garbage collectors available . On the other hand , ban is not considered as a complete solution as citizens can start illegal smuggling of the product which increases illegal activities . Therefore , awaring the public about side effects of smoking by compaigns and TV adds can play a major role to help them to quit smoking. For example, maximum tobaccco companies labeled their product as "Smoking Kills" and many daily smokers stopped smoking .
To conclude , smoking is dangerous to health and making it illegal can help population to stop smoking while on the other hand awaring compaigns can help in a better way as banning may result in illegal smuggling of cigarretes.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You address the question and give a recognisable, though qualified, position: you say you “partially agree,” support restrictions with health and litter concerns, and explain that prohibition could encourage smuggling, while public-awareness campaigns may help people quit. These points are relevant, and the examples make the discussion more specific. However, the position is not fully resolved: the conclusion says both that making smoking illegal can help and that campaigns may be better, without clearly stating which approach you ultimately support or how far you agree with a ban. The corporate-employee example and the claim that warning labels have stopped many smokers also need clearer explanation or support. Develop these points and directly weigh the case for prohibition against its drawbacks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall shape, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from health and workplace smoking to litter, then to the possible drawbacks of a ban. Linking phrases such as “Moreover,” “On the other hand” and “To conclude” help signal these stages. At times, however, the connections feel mechanical or the relationship between ideas is unclear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from smoking being inexpensive and accessible to the claim that it should be banned without fully explaining the link. The second paragraph also combines litter, smuggling and awareness campaigns, making several distinct points compete for attention. Give each main argument a clearer sequence and use references that make it obvious what “it” or “this” refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to discuss health, public policy and the environment, including “illegal smuggling,” “side effects” and “taxpayers’ money.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “stress buster” and “downtown areas.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the phrasing awkward: “uncurable diseases,” “lebelled,” “cigarretes” and “awaring” are examples. Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “available easier everywhere” and “smoke garbage collectors.” These issues do not prevent the reader from following the main argument, but they limit precision and control. Check spelling carefully and learn common combinations such as “readily available,” “labelled as a stress reliever” and “cigarette litter.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast introduced by “On the other hand” and a reason clause beginning “as citizens can start illegal smuggling.” Most sentences communicate the intended meaning, but some grammatical errors remain. For example, “I am partially agree” needs the form “I partially agree,” while “government have to spent” has problems with agreement and verb form. In “80% of corporate employees start smoking after joining the company and lebelled it,” the verb forms do not match. There are also some article, plural and punctuation issues, including inconsistent spacing around commas and full stops. Review subject–verb agreement, verb forms after “have to,” and parallel structures; then proofread sentence boundaries and punctuation.
