Student answer (Band 5.0)
Some people think that Smoking is Injurius to health and it should be banned. while According to other people they are against this view. I am agree with this that smoking can cause a bad health and mental issues and ought to be some penalities by the government, but some folks have a habbit of smoking so I could be hard for them to purchase it, when Government impose some taxes on it.
Firstly, "Smoking is injurius to health", we can read this quote everywhere. Cigarettes can cause health issues which can cause damage of lungs and other parts of the body. if Government take an action and make this thing illegal, can result it, Nobody can Buy this these things from the stores. People life can be save and there will be a less health issues. secondly, smoking can cause a mental issues and people could get a depression and they become habitual of smoking and sometime other kind of drugs as well. People mental health is being destroyed and they can not look after there families. It should be in the hands of government.
On the other hand, Folks who are using smokes on regular basis will face a problem and so hard for them to buy a smokes form local stores, it can cause that they are force to use other king of drugs for their mental and physical satisfaction.
According to me It ought to be banned and let them government decide how they can impose taxes on it so it could be hard to purchase and this will result decrease the number of smokers in the country.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a clear general view that smoking should be restricted, and you mention health damage, dependence, and government action. These points are relevant, but the response only partly addresses the question of whether smoking should be made illegal: your position shifts between supporting a ban and suggesting taxes, without explaining whether taxation is an alternative or an additional measure. The claim that smokers may turn to other drugs is also presented without support, and the effects on families are not explained. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement consistently, then develop each main reason with a specific explanation or example and address the practical consequences of prohibition.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic essay shape, with an opening, a paragraph beginning “Firstly,” a counterpoint introduced by “On the other hand,” and a concluding view. However, progression between ideas is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from physical illness to mental health and drug use, while the relationship between these points is not made clear. Linking words such as “Firstly,” “secondly,” and “On the other hand” provide some structure but are sometimes mechanical, and the final paragraph repeats the opening position rather than drawing the argument together. Improve cohesion by giving each paragraph one central purpose, using clear references to connect sentences, and explaining how the counterargument relates to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a small set of relevant topic words, including “lungs,” “depression,” “habitual,” “government,” and “taxes,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, vocabulary is limited and repeated, particularly “smoking,” “people,” and “health issues.” Several inaccurate word choices or forms make the meaning less natural, such as “injurius,” “penalities,” “habbit,” “other king of drugs,” and “purchase a smokes.” Some phrases, including “bad health” and “mental and physical satisfaction,” are imprecise for this argument. Build a more accurate range of collocations for health and policy, and check spelling and countable/uncountable forms. This will make your ideas clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences with clauses, for example, “Cigarettes can cause health issues which can cause damage of lungs.” However, the longer structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries can make the reader work to understand the argument. Examples include “I am agree,” “People life can be save,” “if Government take an action,” and “they are force to use.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “while According” and the run-on “families.It.” Practise forming accurate subject–verb patterns and passive constructions, and separate complete sentences with appropriate punctuation. Clearer, shorter sentences would help you communicate your points reliably.
