Student answer (Band 5.0)
Smoking plays an accidental role in the form of deadly diseases and it presents in the form of an illegal content. In our universe, a fair amount of people are facing serious health issues in the form of smoking as well. But the companies made it as a non-useable one. I believe that cigaratte should be banned upon their label.
The first and foremost fact is that,a lumpsome amount of mankind like to use cigarattes in their daily life as a good habit. Even if it is a men or women, they both are likely to use this as their life-saving measure. As a result , there health is getting worse day-by-day due to problems in their lungs in the form of tuberculosis.Secondly, which destroys their capability to breath as well as sense as well. For example, My friend named Aswin, who used smoking as a daily habit at the vacation times of his college days reduced his ability to breathe without an oxygen cylinder.
On the other hand, cigarattes plays a crucial role in some people to start their day rather than involving into their multi-tasking jobs. Thereby, a fair amount of people dont want to remove it from their life.Unlike this, they believe it as their life saving machine. However,it should be banned upon its problems in the mankind. Thus,it help people to save their lives from mouth cancer and so on.
To recapitulate, from my observation I can say that smoking should be banned by our goverment upon implementing stringent rules and regulations. This will help people to practise yoga, breathe therapies or massages to cover their free times as a better way to recover from this illness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a position in favour of banning smoking, especially in the opening and conclusion, and you give a relevant personal example about your friend’s breathing difficulties. These points address the topic, but the argument is only partly developed. The claim that smoking is a “life-saving measure” is presented as what some people believe, yet you do not explain why they hold this view or respond to it clearly. The discussion also focuses mainly on smokers’ health, with little explanation of why prohibition is preferable to other measures, such as restrictions or education. To strengthen the response, explain your position consistently and develop each reason with a clear explanation and relevant support.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposting such as “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “On the other hand” shows an attempt to organise ideas. However, progression is not always clear: the second body paragraph shifts from describing smoking as a daily routine to arguing that it should be banned, without fully connecting those points. Some linking expressions are used mechanically or inaccurately, and references such as “this” and “it” can be unclear. The conclusion introduces yoga and therapies without linking them closely to the main argument. Build each paragraph around one central point, connect examples directly to that point, and use transitions only where the relationship between ideas is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “serious health issues,” “lungs,” “oxygen cylinder” and “stringent rules and regulations.” However, the range is limited by repeated or inaccurate expressions, and several choices make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “smoking plays an accidental role” and “banned upon their label” do not express your intended meaning naturally; “cigaratte” and “cigarattes” are also misspelled. Phrases such as “lumpsome amount of mankind” and “multi-tasking jobs” are unsuitable in this context. Aim for precise, natural collocations and check spelling. Replacing vague wording with terms such as “smoking-related diseases” and “a significant number of people” would make your argument clearer.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a relative clause in “My friend named Aswin, who used smoking…” and a cause-and-effect structure beginning “As a result.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “Even if it is a men or women,” “there health is getting worse,” and “cigarattes plays,” which show problems with agreement, pronouns and sentence structure. Missing spaces after punctuation and inconsistent comma use also affect readability. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check subject–verb agreement, pronoun forms and punctuation when proofreading.
