Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays, pupils suffering from various health problems because consumption of smoke. According to my prospective, it should be prohibited and people are not allowed to consume it anywhere.I shall discuss some reasons to support my points in the forthcoming paragraphs with relevent example.

To embark with, there are numours reasons why it should be made illegel. firstly, if people smoke in public places then it put same effect for those who are surronding them which leads to health problems for those individuals as well. Secondly. some females smoke in their pregency as infant born with diseases such as heart failure , asthma and many more. Moreover, it create a lot air pollution which further create dangerous for those smokers as well as others. To illustrate, one of my friends working as a truck driver who pick a load from cigrette factory. He shared experience with me that it very difficult to stand inside factory due to wierd smell. And employees are fond of smoking because it is available free of cost for them.

Apart from this, smoker habitual of consuming it. With regard this, death rate burgeoning by leaps and bound . So these are points which shows that smoke should banned in every city and country.

To conclude this, it should government responsibilty to aware youth and open some rehabitation centre to overcome this . according to my experience, government stricity place high fine who are not following rule as this is very important issue for everyone as then only new generation can get healthy lifestyle.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support prohibiting smoking, and you give relevant reasons involving second-hand smoke, pregnancy, pollution and health risks. The example about your friend at a cigarette factory adds personal support, so the response addresses the main question. However, the task asks how far you agree, and the essay does not explore the extent of the ban in a sufficiently precise way: “not allowed to consume it anywhere” is a broad claim, while later points focus on public places and government action. Some ideas also need fuller explanation. For instance, the claim about smoking during pregnancy lists possible illnesses but does not explain the link or provide supporting detail. Develop each main reason and clarify what prohibition would involve.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, a paragraph of reasons and an ending, and signposts such as “To embark with,” “Moreover” and “To conclude” help show the intended sequence. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The factory anecdote, for example, shifts from the smell inside the factory to employees smoking for free without clearly connecting this to the argument about making smoking illegal. Some linking phrases are mechanical or do not accurately express the relationship between ideas, and “Apart from this” introduces a point that is not clearly developed. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each paragraph follow a clear claim–explanation–example sequence, with pronouns and references that clearly identify what they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “health problems,” “air pollution,” “death rate” and “rehabitation centre,” and some choices show an effort to express more specific ideas. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation errors make parts of the argument harder to understand, such as “prospective,” “numours,” “illegel,” “pregency” and “stricity.” Phrases such as “create dangerous” and “death rate burgeoning by leaps and bound” are not natural English combinations. Aim to learn vocabulary in accurate phrases rather than translating expressions word by word. Proofreading spelling and checking whether verbs and nouns combine naturally would make your meaning clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if people smoke in public places then…” and a relative clause in “a truck driver who pick a load.” However, many sentences contain errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms, and these sometimes make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “Nowadays, pupils suffering from various health problems because consumption of smoke” lacks a complete, correctly formed clause, while “it put same effect” has problems with the verb and sentence construction. There are also run-on sentences and inconsistent punctuation, such as the missing space after “anywhere.” Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement and punctuation.
