Student answer (Band 6.0)
There are a lot of health probelms everyone are facing due to improper food intake, unhygenic food and a lot more reason. One more reason of serious illness in a human body is caused due to smoking and a lot of people want it to be announced as illegal. I fully agree with this statement and the reasons will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
Firstly, smoking does affects our lungs by making them function improper. The smoke coming out from the cigarates are too hazardous for our health that it can literally cause death. Moreover, instead of running campaigns or challenges, smoking should be banned and eventually it will have a lot of advantages for the human body. The very first advantage after smoking gets ban will be that people won't face serious disease like lung cancer or throat cancer. In addition to this, they will also start saving up money indirectly by quiting smoking. Also, it won't make their family feel stressed about them as it can cause a death.
Although, people will have some difficulties in starting phase but then adapting good habits, doing up exercise in morning regularly will make them fit. Also, getting it banned will be so helful for the nature as there will no harmful smokes added to the pure oxygen. It will be beneficial for the animals also. The new born babies will be safe as the harmful smoke won't be present around them. Trees and small herbs will get pure carbon dioxide in the air and the air quality will also get better.
To conclude, I will fully agree to the step of banning to smoking all around the world.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I fully agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including risks such as lung and throat cancer, the financial benefit of quitting, and possible effects on families, babies, animals, and air quality. This covers the task well, and the range of supporting points shows some development beyond a simple assertion. However, several points are listed rather than explained: for example, the environmental benefits and the claim that a ban would improve people’s habits need clearer reasoning or a specific example. The response also moves between banning smoking and helping people quit without explaining how a legal ban would work. Developing the strongest reasons more fully would make the argument more convincing.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “In addition to this” help signal the progression of ideas, and the reader can follow your overall argument. However, the links sometimes feel mechanical, and the second body paragraph groups together exercise, nature, animals, babies, and air quality without a clear hierarchy. Some connections are also unclear, such as the shift from banning smoking to trees receiving “pure carbon dioxide.” Use each paragraph to develop one main reason, and connect supporting details explicitly to that reason. More precise referencing and fewer repeated additive linkers would make the progression smoother.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “hazardous,” “lung cancer,” “air quality,” and “harmful smoke,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to express consequences and benefits in different ways. However, spelling errors and imprecise or unnatural word combinations are noticeable, including “probelms,” “unhygenic,” “cigarates,” “serious disease,” and “banning to smoking.” Phrases such as “improper food intake” and “pure oxygen” are also not quite accurate in this context. These choices sometimes make the argument less precise, even when the intended meaning can be inferred. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations, such as “ban smoking,” “serious illnesses,” and “poor air quality.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “that,” “as,” and “although,” and most of the argument remains understandable. Some sentences show useful control, such as the explanation that smoking can cause serious illness. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction recur. For example, “everyone are facing” should use a singular verb, while “smoking does affects” has an incorrect verb form after “does.” In “The smoke … are,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “there will no harmful smokes added” is missing grammatical elements. The opening “Although” clause is also punctuated as a fragment. Review subject–verb agreement and clause structure, then proofread for complete sentences and accurate verb patterns.
