Dear Neighbours,
I'm writing this letter to inform you that my examination is around the corner and I'm getting distracted by your unwanted noise emitted by playing the piano.
I mostly doing my exam preparations in the night time , thinking to get a peaceful environment to get focused on my studies. However, from the last couple of nights, I have been distracted by your loud musical noise and keep me unable to get concentrate on my task.
It's a loud immense sound coming from your house by the late night. Though, I skip my study during the night time, and try to take good sleep, your distrubance don't let me to do that.
I kindly request you to minimize your noise especially during the night time as nearby people getting affected in their night works. Also, try to avoid doing late night party during the week days.
I hope that you understand my situation and will cautious of your actions from next time.

Ketul

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.5
The letter addresses all three bullet points of the prompt: explaining the problem (piano noise), the impact on studies and sleep, and the requested action (minimizing noise). The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbour, although it fluctuates slightly in formality. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, though the development could be more precise. For instance, the mention of 'late night party' seems to introduce a new issue not previously mentioned, which slightly shifts the focus. Overall, the response fulfills the requirements of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 7.0
The letter is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each serving a specific purpose. The progression of ideas is easy to follow, moving from the introduction of the problem to the specific impact and finally the request for action. Cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Also', and 'Therefore' (implied) are used to link sentences, though some transitions are a bit mechanical. The use of paragraphing is appropriate for a formal letter. While the flow is generally smooth, some sentences could be better connected to improve the overall cohesion of the argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the writer to convey their message clearly. There are some attempts at more descriptive language, such as 'around the corner' and 'unwanted noise', which are used correctly. However, there are some awkward collocations and word choices, such as 'loud immense sound' and 'cautious of your actions', which sound slightly unnatural. While the range is sufficient to communicate the situation, it lacks the precision and flexibility required for a higher band score. Spelling is generally accurate, but the word choice could be more refined.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.5
The letter contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical errors, such as 'I mostly doing' (should be 'I am mostly doing'), 'keep me unable to get concentrate' (should be 'prevents me from concentrating'), and 'your distrubance don't let me' (should be 'your disturbance does not let me'). These errors occur frequently but do not impede the reader's understanding of the message. The control of verb tenses and subject-verb agreement needs improvement to reach a higher band. Punctuation is generally acceptable, though there are some minor issues with spacing and comma usage.
