Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 7.0

The response addresses all three bullet points of the task: explaining the problem, describing the impact on your studies, and requesting specific action. The tone is generally appropriate for a formal letter, though the opening salutation 'Dear sir' is slightly generic. The ideas are relevant and clearly presented, though the development of the final point could be more precise. You have successfully conveyed the urgency of the situation regarding your upcoming exams. To improve, ensure that the purpose of the letter is stated more concisely in the opening and that the request for action is framed with more formal, polite language.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The letter is organized into logical paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Moreover', and 'Finally' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing and punctuation errors, such as the capitalization of 'They' in the middle of sentences and the misuse of 'as result'. The referencing is generally clear, but the transition between the description of the problem and the request for action could be smoother. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring consistent punctuation will help the text flow more naturally.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message effectively, such as 'reputation', 'regulations', and 'concentrate'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'make noice' (noise), 'bed affects' (bad effect), and 'solve that issue in short time period'. These errors do not impede communication, but they do limit the precision of your writing. To reach a higher band, focus on learning common collocations and ensuring that words are used in their correct grammatical form (e.g., 'bad effect' instead of 'bed affects').

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

The response contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt to use complex sentences, there are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation, such as 'I am member of your society', 'They did party', and 'against of the society rules'. Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent throughout the text. While these errors rarely prevent the reader from understanding your meaning, they are frequent enough to impact the overall fluency. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like missing articles or incorrect verb tenses will significantly improve your score.
