Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The letter addresses all three bullet points: the problem is identified, the impact on your studies and health is explained, and a solution is proposed. However, the development of these points is somewhat limited. The tone is generally appropriate for a letter to a neighbour, though it fluctuates slightly. To improve, ensure that the explanation of why the music is a problem is more clearly linked to your specific study needs. While the task requirements are met, the ideas could be expanded with more natural phrasing to better convey the urgency of your upcoming examinations.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The letter is logically organized, moving from a polite opening to the problem, its impact, and finally a suggested solution. However, the use of cohesive devices is somewhat mechanical and limited. For example, the transition between the problem and the health issues is abrupt. Paragraphing is also insufficient; the entire body of the letter is presented as a single block of text, which makes it harder to follow. Using clear paragraph breaks between the introduction, the main body, and the conclusion would significantly improve the structure and readability of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You have a sufficient range of vocabulary to communicate your message, but there are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors. Phrases like 'habitual to play' should be 'in the habit of playing', and 'examined that' is incorrect in this context (should be 'noticed that'). Additionally, 'eyes swelling' is not a standard collocation for the health effects of sleep deprivation. While your meaning is generally clear, the lack of precision in word choice prevents a higher score. Focusing on learning common collocations will help you express your ideas more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including issues with verb forms ('habitual to play'), article usage ('at day time'), and sentence structure ('i am also requesting you you can use'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing capital letters for 'I' and incorrect spacing around commas. While you attempt some complex ideas, the errors are frequent and occasionally require the reader to re-read to understand the intended meaning. To improve, focus on basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and consistent capitalization.
