Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 4.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 150 words, which significantly impacts the task achievement. While you have addressed the three bullet points—explaining the problem, the impact on your studies, and the desired action—the final point is incomplete as the letter ends abruptly without a clear request for action or a proper closing. The ideas are under-developed due to the brevity of the text. To improve, you must expand on your points to meet the length requirement and ensure you provide a complete, polite request for the neighbours to lower the volume.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The letter follows a basic structure, but the lack of development and the abrupt ending hinder the overall flow. You use some basic cohesive devices like 'Although' and 'Unfortunately', which help link ideas, but the progression is interrupted by the unfinished nature of the final paragraph. Paragraphing is attempted, but the final section is incomplete, making the overall organization feel disjointed. To improve, ensure each paragraph has a clear purpose and that you use a wider variety of linking words to connect your sentences more fluidly.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally appropriate for a semi-formal letter, but it is quite limited. Phrases like 'refresh your mind' and 'quality time' are used, but there are errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'concentre' (which is a misspelling of 'concentrate') and 'lose my internet' (which does not make sense in this context). The range is insufficient to express your ideas with precision. You should focus on using more varied and accurate vocabulary related to noise complaints and academic pressure to improve your score.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. For example, 'past of few nights' should be 'past few nights', and 'need spend' should be 'need to spend'. The sentence 'The loud music lose my internet and concentre' is grammatically incorrect and unclear. You rely on simple sentence structures, and there is a lack of complex sentences. To improve, focus on basic subject-verb agreement, correct preposition usage, and proofreading for spelling errors. Attempting to use more complex sentence structures would also help demonstrate a wider grammatical range.
