Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

The response successfully covers all three bullet points required by the prompt. You clearly explain the problem by stating that your new neighbour plays loud music late at night. You also explain why this causes difficulties, noting that you have an upcoming exam and the noise prevents you from concentrating on your studies, which may affect your final grade. Finally, you state the action you would like the recipient (likely a landlord or building manager) to take, which is to talk to the neighbour, enforce the rules, or take strict action. The purpose of the letter is clear, and the tone is appropriate for a formal complaint to a housing authority. However, some ideas are slightly repetitive, which places the response comfortably at Band 6.0 according to the descriptors.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The letter is generally coherent and follows a logical structure with a clear opening, body paragraphs addressing the problem and consequences, and a concluding request. Paragraphing is attempted, though the central body block is quite dense and could be broken down further for better clarity. Cohesive devices are basic and sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'Actually', 'Due to', 'Otherwise'). Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the final paragraph where the phrase 'Otherwise i have create problem for me' lacks clear grammatical connection to the preceding sentence. Overall, the arrangement is coherent enough to earn a Band 5.5, reflecting a mix of adequate logical flow and faulty cohesive links.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing you to convey your message, but the range is limited and contains several noticeable errors and spelling mistakes. For instance, words like 'undoubtdly', 'fisrt', and 'create' show basic spelling and form inaccuracies. You attempt some less common phrases, such as 'cooperative person' and 'strict action', but word choice is occasionally unnatural, as seen in phrases like 'My purpose of writing a letter is that i am facing a problem'. While communication is not severely impeded, these repeated lexical and spelling flaws place the response at Band 5.0.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The response features a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, though attempts at complex structures frequently contain errors. There are numerous grammatical and punctuation issues throughout the text, including missing capitalization ('i'), tense inconsistencies (e.g., 'Recently, there is new neighbour moved in'), and awkward phrasing ('If you done this for me it will lot for me'). Frequent errors in basic subject-verb agreement and preposition usage cause some difficulty for the reader, though the core meaning remains understandable. These characteristics align closely with the Band 5.0 descriptors for grammatical range and accuracy.
