Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your letter addresses all parts of the prompt, successfully covering the explanation of the problem, why it causes difficulties, and the action you would like the neighbours to take. For instance, you clearly mention that you have upcoming examinations and that the loud music at night prevents you from concentrating and sleeping properly. However, some ideas are under-developed or expressed rather simply. While you mention the impact on your health, such as the headache, the development remains limited. To reach a higher band, you would need to extend your ideas with more detail and fully develop each bullet point with greater elaboration and clarity throughout the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation in your letter, as you attempt to separate your points into distinct sections, and you include an appropriate greeting and sign-off. However, there is no clear overall progression of ideas, and the structure feels disjointed due to the heavy fragmentation of sentences. Cohesive devices are inadequate or inaccurate, with abrupt transitions such as starting sentences with "that`s why," or "So could you please consdering my request?". Paragraphing is also disrupted, as related ideas about your health and your request are split across multiple very short, broken lines rather than unified, logical paragraphs. To improve, you need to use cohesive devices more accurately and ensure your ideas flow logically from one point to the next.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a limited but minimally adequate range of vocabulary for the task, attempting common terms related to studying and neighbours, such as "concentrate", "reviewing", and "volume". However, there are noticeable errors in word choice, word form, and spelling that cause some difficulty for the reader. For example, you write "examantion" instead of examination, "prefering" instead of preparing, and "maine" instead of main. Furthermore, awkward phrasing such as "make an healthy and friendly for society" and "this can be relief for me" demonstrate a lack of precision with collocations and less common vocabulary. To achieve a higher score, you should expand your lexical range and monitor your spelling and word forms carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing displays a limited range of structures, relying mostly on simple sentences alongside attempts at complex forms that are often faulty. There are frequent errors in grammar and punctuation that can cause difficulty for the reader. For instance, you make mistakes with verb forms and tenses, such as writing "i didn`t concentrate enough while reviewing, memorising and i have been struggling sleeping at night that i got sleep more than 6 to 5 hours only". Punctuation is also problematic, with incorrect capitalisation, misplaced commas, and fragment sentences like "Can i make a request? That would respectfully reduce the volume of sound at night." To improve, you need to increase your control over sentence structures and reduce grammatical errors.
