Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You identify the central problem: loud music from the neighbours’ home is disturbing your sleep and making it difficult to prepare for final examinations. However, the response does not fully address the task. The effect on your studies is mentioned, but it is not explained in detail, and the requested action is unclear: the final sentence says that the neighbours start fighting when approached, rather than making a clear, polite request for them to reduce the volume or stop playing music late at night. The opening details about the family do not help develop the complaint. The response is also 35 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to explain the difficulties and desired solution fully. Add a clear request and supporting details.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic sequence: you introduce the neighbours, describe the noise, explain its effects, and mention an attempt to speak to them. This gives the reader a general sense of the situation. However, the response is presented as one block, and the progression between points is not always clear. For example, “As well as, after some days” does not connect the examination point smoothly to the previous sentence, while “When we want their to tell the to low the noise” is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for the problem and its effects, then your request, and connect ideas with simple, accurate phrases such as “As a result” and “I would therefore appreciate it if…”.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use relevant basic vocabulary, including “loud music,” “sleep,” and “final examination,” so the main situation can be understood. However, the range is limited, and several word choices or combinations are unnatural or unclear. For instance, “the noise of loud music is burst out” does not express the sound naturally, and “low the noise” is not the appropriate phrase for asking someone to reduce it. “I didn't study anything” is also too absolute for the intended meaning. Choose precise expressions such as “the music is played at a high volume,” “turn the music down,” and “I have been unable to concentrate on my revision.” Check spelling and word forms, including “neighbours,” “moved,” and “their,” to make the message easier to read.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to combine ideas using clauses, for example, “because of noise” and “because of that,” but sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas unclear. Examples include “they recently shift in my neighborhood,” “their boys age are,” and “there are my final examination,” where verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction need correction. The final sentence, “When we want their to tell the to low the noise,” is also difficult to interpret because the clause is not formed correctly. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then join them with “because,” “so,” or “although.” For example: “The music keeps us awake, so I cannot concentrate on my exams.” Use full stops and capital letters consistently.
