Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the central problem—loud music at night—and explain that it affects both your sleep and your ability to study. You also give relevant context by mentioning that your examinations begin soon and that good results matter for university enrolment. However, the response is incomplete: it ends with “I request you that” and never states what you want the neighbours to do, so a key task point is missing. The reasons for the difficulty are also only briefly outlined rather than developed. In addition, the response is 48 words below the required minimum, which limits how fully you can explain the situation and make a polite, specific request. Complete the letter with a clear action, such as asking them to lower the volume after a certain time.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The ideas are generally relevant and follow a basic sequence: you introduce the noise, describe its effect, and explain the importance of your examinations. Linking expressions such as “Moreover” and “Apart from that” show an attempt to connect points. However, the progression is not fully clear because several ideas are crowded into one paragraph, and the final sentence stops before completing the request. Some links are also awkward or repetitive, particularly the repeated references to studying and good marks. Organise the letter into short paragraphs—for example, the problem, its effects, and your requested action—and use transitions that show the relationship between ideas rather than simply adding another point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “high volume music,” “disturbs my sleep,” “concentration,” and “reputable university.” These choices make the main concern understandable, and you attempt some more formal language suitable for a complaint letter. However, several phrases are unnatural or imprecise, such as “voices of loud music,” “do study,” and “for enrollment in reputable university.” The repeated use of “study” and “good marks” also limits the range. Aim for natural collocations and more precise wording, such as “loud music coming from your flat,” “concentrate on my studies,” and “gain admission to a reputable university.” Check spelling and capitalisation, including “I” and “Monday.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Moreover” and one using “not only … but also.” The main message is usually understandable, but errors in sentence construction and agreement sometimes make the writing awkward. For example, “voices of loud music comes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “it is essential for me to getting” uses an incorrect verb form. The clause “However, the loud music i cannot concentrate on my study” is also not formed correctly. Practise building complete clauses with clear subjects and verbs, and check verb forms after expressions such as “essential for me.” Capitalise “I” and use punctuation to separate ideas clearly.
