Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

The letter identifies the central problem—loud music late at night—and explains that it disrupts studying and sleep. It also requests that the neighbour turn the volume down, so the main purpose is recognisable. However, the response only partly develops the task: the timing of the noise is not clearly described, and the effects on your exams and your grandfather are asserted rather than explained. The threat that the neighbour could “lose your house” or be fined is not supported and makes the request less appropriate and persuasive. A clearer, more consistently polite position, with a specific request such as keeping music low after a stated time, would make the response more complete and effective.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The ideas are presented in a broadly understandable order: you introduce yourself, describe the noise, explain its effects, and make a request. The sign-off also helps identify this as a letter. However, the response is largely one continuous block, so the problem, its consequences, and the requested action are not clearly separated. Linking words such as “Additionally,” “furthermore,” and “Even” are used, but some connections feel mechanical or do not clearly show how the ideas relate. The shift from a polite request to a threat is abrupt. Use short paragraphs for the main points and connect each consequence directly to the noise; this would create clearer progression and make the letter easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main issue, including “loud music,” “volume,” “distracted,” and “headache.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are unnatural or imprecise, which sometimes makes the message harder to understand. For example, “I live next-door in your house” does not clearly express that you live nearby, while “I will get terminate” and “noise problem” are not suitable phrases in this context. Repetition of “music” and “volume” also limits variety. Choose natural collocations and precise wording, such as “the music is disturbing my sleep” and “my grandfather is sensitive to noise,” while keeping the tone courteous.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response relies mainly on simple statements and uses few controlled complex structures. There are frequent errors in sentence formation and verb forms, which can make parts difficult to interpret. For instance, “I am your neighbour I live next-door” joins two clauses without suitable punctuation, and “I will cannot to do agian Exam” has an incorrect modal construction. Other examples include “my grandfather he have” and “i suffering,” where subject–verb agreement and auxiliary verbs are missing or incorrect. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent. Practise forming clear sentences with one main clause, then add accurate subordinate clauses using “because” or “as.” Check verb forms, agreement, and sentence boundaries before submitting.
