Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the central problem—noise from the neighbours—and explain that it affects both your studying and sleep. You also mention that your final examinations are next month, which gives a relevant reason for your concern. However, the response only partially fulfils the task: the request for action is vague in “please pay attention of me,” and you do not clearly ask them to turn the music down or stop playing it late at night. The explanation of the difficulties is brief and not fully clear. The response is also 30 words below the required minimum, so there is limited space to develop the points. State the specific action you want and add details about how the noise affects your preparation and rest.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The letter has a recognisable opening, body and closing, and the sequence moves from the examination situation to the noise and its effects, then to a request. Connectors such as “To begin with” and “To sum up” help signal this basic organisation. However, progression is limited: the final paragraph does not clearly develop the requested action, and several ideas are joined mechanically with repeated “So” and “That is why.” The opening sentence is also difficult to follow, which makes the purpose less clear at first. Use separate paragraphs for the problem, its effects and your request, and link each point with clear references rather than repeating the same connectors.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the situation, including “final examination,” “noise,” “studies” and “sleep,” so the reader can identify the main concern. However, the range is limited and some word choices or combinations make the message difficult to understand, such as “some problem in some day,” “noise around in your home” and “pay attention of me.” These are lexical and collocation issues rather than simply a lack of detail. Aim for precise, natural phrases that describe the late-night music and its impact, for example, “play loud music late at night” and “disturb my concentration.” A wider set of suitable expressions would make the complaint clearer and more appropriately formal.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few connected sentences, including “That is why, I would studies at hard level,” and uses simple time and cause relationships. However, the range of sentence structures is very limited, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes obscure meaning. For example, “I am a neighbours” has incorrect agreement, while “I would studies” uses an incorrect verb form; “I cannot properly studies” also needs a different verb structure. The sentence “If you consider of my situation” is incomplete. Practise accurate simple patterns first, such as “I am a neighbour” and “I cannot study properly,” then build longer sentences using “because” and “which.”
