Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You address the main situation by explaining that late-night music is disturbing your sleep and study, and you mention the important context that your exam is next week. This makes the complaint relevant and gives the reader a reason to act. However, the request is not sufficiently clear or specific: “I would like a you are improve a problem” and “not created a late night music” do not clearly state what you want the neighbours to do. The warning, “I action on you,” is also vague and may sound confrontational. To strengthen the letter, clearly ask them to lower the volume or stop playing music after a particular time, and explain briefly how this would help you prepare for your examination.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The letter has a recognisable structure: it opens with the complaint, gives details about the effects, and ends with a request and sign-off. The second paragraph focuses on the difficulties, including sleep and worry about the upcoming exam, which helps group related information. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear, and several sentences are difficult to connect, such as “I stay you are near apartment” and “I would like a you are improve a problem.” Linking words such as “because” and “so” are attempted, but their use is repetitive or does not make the relationship between ideas clear. Organise the letter into clear paragraphs and use straightforward links to show cause and effect and to introduce the specific action you are requesting.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some vocabulary relevant to the complaint, including “music,” “mid night,” “study,” “sleep,” and “exam,” so the reader can identify the general problem. However, the range is basic and several inaccurate word choices or spellings make the message difficult to understand. For example, “high sounded” does not naturally describe loud music, “noisey” is misspelled, and “anxity” is an incorrect form. Phrases such as “I feel very irritate” and “a make a noise” also show limited control of natural expressions. Build a small set of accurate phrases for noise complaints and feelings, and check spelling and word forms. More precise wording would make your request clearer and more appropriate for a polite letter to neighbours.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response attempts to communicate through short statements and includes a few links, such as “because” and “so,” but sentence structures are very limited and grammatical errors occur throughout. For example, “I not focus on study” lacks the auxiliary verb and article, while “I face the many difficulties a sleep and study” has an unclear sentence pattern. Verb forms and agreement are also problematic in “You are created a noisey” and “I feel very irritate.” These errors often make the reader work to understand the intended meaning. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, especially subject–verb–object patterns, then combine them with “because” to explain the effects. Check articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries when proofreading.
