Student answer (Band 6.0)

In this rapidly evolving world, whether animals should be preserve in zoos or it should be closed has become a subject of considerable debate. While I acknowledge that jungles provide freedom to the nature, I firmly believe that zoos deserves greater emphasis, as it offers significant benefits to animals, individuals and society as whole.

First and foremost, one most the most compelling arguments in favour of having zoos is that they play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between nature and human. This is primarily because live experience of wildlife animals enables students to know more about them, allowing them to build interest towards animals and their preserving system. As a results, this can help to protect nature, preserving biodiversity and promote long-term enivornmental sustanability. For instance, a students who regularly visit zoos and gather knowledge regarding animals and their lifestyle are likely to undestand how nature works and they have better understanding for necessity for preserving animals in zoos. Therefore, zoos offer initial approach for building relations with animals and humans.

Moreover, beyond building relation and bridging the gap of human and animals, zoos also contributes significantly to the develop tourism for locals. This can largely be attributes to the facts that people have keen interest to see animals like tiger, lion and others, while zoos offer such kind of aminities to enjoy it without being scared of animals. Consequently, this become spot of tourist industry which helps to grow businesses their like hotels, motels and restuarants. A clear example of this can be seen in Rajkot zoo in india, where thousand of people come and visit that area, there are total 32 motels and which are always full of tourist. Therefore, it works as business.

In conclusion, although jungles remains indispensable for animals, I firmly maintain that zoos offer greater advantages in preparing students towards nature.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you disagree with closing zoos, and the introduction and conclusion both support keeping them. You give two relevant reasons—education and tourism—and illustrate them with a visit to Rajkot Zoo. However, the response does not fully address the central concern in the statement: whether animals should continue to be kept in zoos. The educational benefit is explained, but the example about students is hypothetical and the claim that zoos help preserve biodiversity is not developed. The tourism paragraph is also less connected to animal welfare, and the conclusion introduces little beyond the earlier points. To strengthen the response, address concerns such as captivity directly and explain why the benefits outweigh them.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The essay has a clear overall structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Its progression from education to tourism is easy to follow, and signposts such as “First and foremost,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help readers identify each stage. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some flexibility in linking ideas. However, several links are mechanical or unclear: “Therefore” repeats the preceding point, while “Therefore, it works as business” does not clearly identify what “it” refers to. The Rajkot example also shifts abruptly from visitor numbers to motels. Use clearer referencing and explain how each example supports the paragraph’s main claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “pivotal role,” “bridging the gap,” “biodiversity” and “environmental sustainability.” These choices show an effort to express ideas beyond basic vocabulary. However, noticeable word-choice, collocation and spelling errors reduce precision and sometimes make phrases difficult to interpret. Examples include “live experience of wildlife animals,” “preserving system,” “aminities” and “attributes to the facts.” Some expressions are also vague or repetitive, such as “works as business” and repeated references to “building” a relationship or gap. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully; precise phrases such as “first-hand experience of wildlife” would make your meaning clearer.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “while,” “because” and “which,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, some errors in agreement, articles, verb forms and sentence construction persist. For example, “zoos deserves” should be “zoos deserve,” and “this become spot” needs a correctly formed verb and article. In “a students who regularly visit,” the article and plural noun do not agree; the long sentence beginning “A clear example of this…” also lacks a clear grammatical structure. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they make the writing less controlled. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and breaking overloaded sentences into clearer units.
