Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, some languages are only spoken by fewer people or communities, and it may disappear in the near future. This trend can be connected to several reasons, and in my opinion, it can be looked at both positive and negative perspectives.
One major reason why some languages are losing their importance is globalization. World is more connected through, trade, education, and travel, and there is a need of a single channel of communication to present ideas easily. So, international language is learnt by young people, exploring better job opportunities and to present ideas clearly in front of others. They start using less local language, It may cause extinction of it in the near future.
One significant advantage is fewer language barriers, using single language not only helps to make more strong connections worldwide, but also open abundance of opportunities for young people to work and study abroad. It also helps to exchange cultural values with others in more efficient way.
However, this trend has serious dowside, speaking less local language may leads to extinction of a rich culture. Language is a source of local stories, expreiences and a symbol of uniqueness. If language disappears, the rich culture would be vanish. So, coming generation would have no idea about origin of background.
In conclusion, globalization is one of the major reasons vanishing of my local language. I believe this approach has positive aspects on the society, but it's negative side also cannot be ignored. Individuals and governmnets should come forward to secure local languages by organizing seminors and workshops.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response is completely off-topic. The prompt asks for an opinion on whether zoos should be closed, but the essay discusses the disappearance of languages and globalization. Because the student failed to address the task prompt entirely, this criterion is severely impacted. While the essay is structured as an argumentative piece, it does not respond to the specific question provided. In an actual IELTS examination, this would be treated as a memorized or irrelevant response, leading to a very low score for Task Response. To improve, you must carefully read the prompt and ensure your arguments directly relate to the topic of animal captivity in zoos.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs with clear topic sentences, such as 'One major reason...' and 'However, this trend has serious downside...'. Cohesive devices like 'In conclusion', 'However', and 'One significant advantage' are used to link ideas. While the content is irrelevant to the prompt, the internal structure of the essay itself is coherent. The progression of ideas within the paragraphs is logical, and the paragraphing is appropriate for an essay format. The main issue remains the lack of relevance to the actual task question, which prevents a higher score.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, though it lacks the precision and range required for higher bands. You use some relevant academic vocabulary such as 'globalization', 'extinction', and 'cultural values'. However, there are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'make more strong connections' (should be 'stronger connections') and 'the rich culture would be vanish' (should be 'would vanish'). There are also minor spelling errors like 'dowside' and 'seminors'. To improve, focus on using collocations correctly and expanding your range of topic-specific vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. However, there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'some languages are only spoken by fewer people' (should be 'fewer and fewer people'), 'World is more connected' (missing article 'The'), and 'may leads to' (should be 'may lead to'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma splices and run-on sentences. While you attempt complex structures, the frequency of errors in basic grammar prevents a higher score. Focus on subject-verb agreement and article usage to improve accuracy.
