Student answer (Band 6.5)

Nowadays, most of the people like to kept animal at their home and they are taking care of it as like their family members. It is often believed that most of the people agree with there is no longer zoos need for kept animals so it should be closed. To a major extent I disagree with above mentioned statement.

A good reason support the idea is that they help save animals from dying out. to elaborate, in forest there are many species of animal faces serious issues like hunting by someones and deforestation. zoo providing them safe environment and they can easily survive over here. For example a species of lion at India disappearing in forest so government taking care of some species of lion at zoo and taking care of them and their new born babies as well.

Another point worth mentioning is that it will be help for future generation . In details, at zoo there are some kind of species under observation of government . As result our future generations will get opportunities to watch them a live instead of just searching on an internet.

On the other hand, sometime kept animals in zoos instead of leave them in forest is not good for them. To explain in details, via this way unfortunately we snatching them freedom and they can not survive in that kind of cage.As result, they are alive but not look happy with their life.

In conclusion, my position lans towards having zoo is good for animals better life, their safety and also for future generation knowledge purpose. However, kept them in zoos for very long duration it will affects on their emotions.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have addressed all parts of the prompt and maintained a clear position throughout the essay. You provided relevant arguments regarding conservation and education, and you acknowledged the counter-argument regarding animal welfare. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the example of the lion in India is a good start, but it lacks specific detail or a clear explanation of how the zoo environment specifically aids in their survival compared to other methods. To reach a higher band, ensure that each point is fully extended with more depth and logical explanation rather than just stating the idea.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'A good reason', 'Another point', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and the use of linking words is repetitive. Some transitions are slightly awkward, such as 'In details' or 'As result', which are not standard English phrases. Improving the variety of your cohesive devices and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more fluid would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, allowing you to communicate your main points clearly. However, there is a lack of precision and a reliance on simple, repetitive language. You frequently use incorrect word forms or collocations, such as 'kept animal' instead of 'keeping animals' and 'snatching them freedom' instead of 'depriving them of their freedom'. There are also some spelling and grammatical errors that affect the sophistication of your writing. To improve, focus on learning common collocations and using more precise academic vocabulary to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You demonstrate a mix of simple and some complex sentence structures, but the essay contains frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the flow of reading. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('most of the people like to kept'), incorrect verb forms ('government taking care'), and missing articles or prepositions. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and sentence construction prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on consistent verb tense usage and ensuring that your sentences are grammatically complete will help improve your score in this area.
