Student answer (Band 6.5)
Undoubtedly, Zoos plays vital role in the society regarding awareness. Few individuals believes that animals should no longer kept in the zoo and it should be permanently closed. I completely disagree as zoos protect the species and educate people which I further elaborated in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, zoos should not be closed as it protect the endangered animals. This is how, the animals are protected from hunting and also bred safely. For an example, animals like panda and tiger are protected in the zoos to save from the extinction. As a result, it not only helps to prevent extinction of the species but also helps to increase the population by the giving safe and protected environment for the bred.
Moreover, zoos also helps in the educated people and also for the researchers to research on the species. This is why, because of the zoos, they know the importance of the different species in the eco system. For an instance, children visits the zoos which helps to know more about different animals and their importance. Thus, it also spread the awareness regarding the animals and birds which also helps them to learn and get more information regarding the distinct species.
In conclusion, Zoos should not be closed but it should be well maintained and developed so the animals and birds species not only protected but it also helpful for the student and the research to research but also get knowledge and awareness regarding the different species of the animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in the introduction and supporting it with two main arguments: conservation and education. The ideas are relevant, though they are somewhat repetitive and lack depth. For instance, the argument about 'research' is mentioned but not fully developed with specific examples of how such research benefits society. While the position is consistent throughout, the development of ideas is basic and relies on general statements. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific, concrete examples or elaborate on the implications of your points to demonstrate a more sophisticated understanding of the topic.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'To commence with', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes mechanical, and the use of referencing is occasionally unclear (e.g., 'This is how, the animals are protected'). Some sentences feel disjointed because the logical links between ideas are not always smooth. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of cohesive devices and ensuring that each sentence logically follows the previous one without relying on repetitive transition phrases.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks variety and precision. You use common words like 'important', 'know', and 'helps' repeatedly. There are also some collocation errors, such as 'bred safely' or 'educated people' (should be 'educate people'). While the meaning is clear, the range is limited, and there is little evidence of less common or idiomatic vocabulary. To improve, try to incorporate more precise academic synonyms and focus on correct word forms and collocations to express your ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that affect the accuracy of the writing. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('Zoos plays', 'individuals believes'), article usage ('the society', 'the eco system'), and awkward phrasing ('the giving safe and protected environment for the bred'). While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your message, they occur frequently enough to impact the overall fluency. You should focus on proofreading for basic subject-verb agreement and ensuring that your sentence structures are grammatically sound.
