Student answer (Band 6.0)

It is believed that the Zoo's should come to an end as the animals are no more required to be in Zoo. I completely disagree with this because animals need to be in place sheltered and it is better place to experience animal lively in only Zoo.

It is very important as a human to give animals and place to live with safety. Animals cannot be left in any other place as it created vulnerable situation to public too. Since Zoo is Monitored and supervised by humans they get appropriate food on time. For example, A famous actress who is rich has decided to have one of her farm land to be filled with animals to safe guard and provide food as part of humanity.

Witnessing all types of animals at one place happens only in Zoo's. As children learns and see's animals in books as part of the subject. But experiencing in live gives pleasure and satisfaction for kids. Although there are certain animals can be seen in locality but wild animals can only be seen in Zoo's as they ensures they doesn't harm any people and can find it compatible to see anytime.

For Instance, During my childhood I have seen few wild animals as part of subject but couldn't find any Zoo in the place where I lived after moving to Canada here they have one and i witnessed all kinds of animals which made me feel better.

In Conclusion, Having Zoo's at least one helps Kids to experience all sorts of animal in live and as part of humanity one should protect and provide food to animals which is beneficial for both people and animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have addressed the prompt by clearly stating your disagreement with the closure of zoos. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, your argument about safety is a bit vague, and the example regarding a 'famous actress' is not particularly relevant or convincing in the context of professional zoo management. To improve, focus on providing more logical, well-supported arguments, such as the role of zoos in conservation, education, and scientific research. While your position is clear throughout, the supporting points lack the depth required for a higher band score.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate. For example, 'For Instance' and 'Although' are used, but the transitions between sentences are sometimes abrupt, making the flow feel disjointed. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the second paragraph where the connection between the actress's farm and the necessity of zoos is not logically linked. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words will help your ideas progress more smoothly.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.0

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite basic and repetitive. You frequently use the word 'Zoo's' (which is also grammatically incorrect due to the unnecessary apostrophe). There is a lack of more sophisticated or precise vocabulary related to the topic, such as 'wildlife conservation,' 'endangered species,' or 'educational outreach.' To reach a higher band, try to incorporate a wider range of topic-specific vocabulary and avoid repeating the same words throughout the essay. You also have some minor errors in word choice, such as 'experience animal lively'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede the reader's understanding. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'children learns and see's'), incorrect use of articles, and punctuation errors, particularly the misuse of apostrophes in plurals like 'Zoo's'. Your sentence structures are mostly simple, and attempts at complex sentences often contain errors, such as 'Although there are certain animals can be seen'. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, subject-verb agreement, and the correct use of plurals without apostrophes.
