Student answer (Band 5.5)

Animal safety is a raising concern nowadays. While, there is an ongoing debate about to cease the animal parks as people find less demand for saving creatures in a sanctuaries, I believe there should be a reserve areas for living species.

To commence with, modern infrastructure has been adapted all over the world consequently it lead to migration of wild life by disforestation. While developing high-rise buildings and four/six lane road, builders are removing plants and trees which are homes of living ones. In addition, due to global-warming uncertain weather harmed many green places which was the food source of living organisms. For example, recently the senior Range forest officer stated in his interview that many lions from gir sanctuary have been migrated in a search of home and food.

Furthermore, animals are nature's creature it is humans' responsibility to save them. By allotting specifics radius for creatures allows them to stay safely and quietly. Moreover, by reserving areas for wild life park or zoo contributes economically too by imposing visiting charges for tourist. To exemplify, Jawai safari park has been builded five years ago, which is a lepord sanctuary and last year it contributed 12% of whole economical profit from tourism.

To conclude, although citizens agrees to demolish zoos, I am convinced that protecting living species and their living species is our duty as more species are disappearing in recent times.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of maintaining zoos. However, the essay fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, which significantly impacts the development of ideas. While the arguments regarding deforestation and economic benefits are relevant, they are somewhat underdeveloped due to the brevity of the response. The conclusion is also quite brief. To improve, you should expand on your supporting points with more detailed explanations or additional examples to ensure you comfortably exceed the word count limit and provide a more comprehensive discussion.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To commence with,' 'In addition,' and 'Furthermore' to link ideas. However, the flow is occasionally interrupted by awkward phrasing, such as 'While, there is an ongoing debate about to cease the animal parks.' The referencing is sometimes unclear, and the transition between sentences could be smoother. To achieve a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that the relationship between sentences is more explicit and natural.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'infrastructure,' 'disforestation,' and 'economical profit.' However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and non-standard collocations, such as 'raising concern' (rising concern), 'living ones' (living creatures), and 'builded' (built). Some phrasing is repetitive, particularly the use of 'living species' and 'living organisms.' To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for academic writing and try to vary your vocabulary to avoid repeating the same phrases throughout the essay.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5

The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'it lead to migration' (it leads to), 'uncertain weather harmed' (has harmed), and 'citizens agrees' (citizens agree). There are also issues with article usage and verb tense consistency. While the meaning is generally understandable, the frequency of these errors prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. Focus on subject-verb agreement and consistent tense usage to improve your accuracy.
