Student answer (Band 5.5)
Well iam disagree with this that no longer need to have animals kept in zoos.
Firstly, if we close zoos then where we will keep all that kind of home less animals. We should have some place where we can keep those animals who are roaming some kind of roads or jungle which is not good for human beings.
Secondly, if we close the zoos then how we will show the different types of animals and birds which looks beautiful as well as attractive to others and children's also. Zoos is the only place where we can go and enjoy so many animals and birds which are entertaining and different.
When I was in school, One day my teacher told us that tomorrow we all are going to picnic for whole day in-between we will all visit to one zoo also. When I hear about zoo I was so excited to go to zoo. Next day when we visited to zoo there we saw sp many different types of animals specially when I saw the monkeys they are jumping and playing with each other in the cage that was so amazing view. After that we saw there tiger also and we feel scared when we saw one or two tigers in the cage, then we saw so many more animals like kangaroo, deer, horses, camel, elephant and ducks in the pond. Side by side we saw some colorfull birds and butterflies also which looks so beautiful.
So furthermore I am trying to say this that zoo is very important for us because with the help of zoo we can keep those types of animals which we can't keep in my houses and can't protect also for protecting and caring we should have zoos so that we can take care of our animals and feel proud to our country that we have so many different varieties of animals and visitors could see and feel enjoy

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited. The arguments regarding animal protection and education are somewhat simplistic and repetitive. The personal anecdote about a school trip takes up a significant portion of the essay but does not directly support the core arguments in a sophisticated way. To improve, you should focus on developing more complex arguments, such as the role of zoos in conservation, scientific research, or breeding programs for endangered species, rather than focusing primarily on entertainment or personal nostalgia.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is basic and sometimes mechanical (e.g., 'Firstly', 'Secondly', 'So furthermore'). There is a lack of sophisticated linking words to connect ideas within and between paragraphs. Additionally, the referencing is occasionally unclear, such as in the sentence 'in-between we will all visit to one zoo also', which disrupts the flow of the narrative. Improving the variety of transition signals and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified topic sentence would enhance the overall coherence.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. You rely on basic descriptors like 'beautiful', 'attractive', and 'amazing'. There are also some awkward collocations and word choice errors, such as 'home less animals' (homeless) and 'feel enjoy' (enjoy themselves). To reach a higher band, you should aim to incorporate more topic-specific vocabulary related to animal welfare, biodiversity, and conservation, and work on using words in their correct grammatical form and context.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Zoos is the only place'), incorrect verb tenses (e.g., 'When I hear about zoo I was so excited'), and missing articles or prepositions. While the meaning is generally understandable, the high frequency of these errors prevents the writing from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors like pluralization and tense consistency would be very beneficial.
