Student answer (Band 5.5)

I would like to disagree the statement because animals should be saved and secured at places like Zoos. This bring the rare animals and species, all wild life creatures at one place.

Firstly, Some Animals are Cornivorous and Omnivorous they do not Cause harm to any human life. If we look at rare birds like sparrows they became non existing because of radiation and Technology developed by humans for their basic needs, this can be preserved if we have more number of Zoos at Every place across the world. Not all animals can be seen outside if we do not have places like this. Children enjoy their best time visiting and watching all these beautiful creatures at one place not by reading the books or looking into the Pictures.

Secondly, Zoos are the best places to show our future generations what are spieces alive when compare to past generations. One example of my own life is when I am in my childhood I used to feed a lot of birds like crows and pigeons now they all became rare. which can only be seen at Zoos or in Social Media. Which is So Bad to Digest.

In my perspective, Zoos are places to save rare animals and Birds and also protect our Wild life not become invisible and can brings all the wild life creatures can be seen at one place not to travel across the world to see each speices or animals. Moreover zoos bring a good name to the Country when they have rare creatures at one place. So Zoos should Saved.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5

The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of zoos. However, the development of ideas is limited. The argument regarding 'carnivorous and omnivorous' animals is not clearly linked to the necessity of zoos, and the claim that zoos prevent extinction is a significant over-generalization. The points are somewhat repetitive, focusing primarily on the educational and preservation aspects without exploring the counter-arguments or the complexities of animal welfare. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced reasons and specific, well-explained examples rather than personal anecdotes about feeding birds, which are not directly relevant to the role of professional zoos.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the progression of ideas is often disjointed. The use of cohesive devices is mechanical and sometimes inaccurate, such as starting sentences with 'Which is So Bad to Digest' or 'This bring the rare animals'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between the introduction, body paragraphs, and conclusion lacks sophistication. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'in contrast') and ensure that each paragraph has a clear topic sentence that flows logically from the previous one.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is generally basic and repetitive. There are several errors in word choice and spelling, such as 'Cornivorous' instead of 'carnivorous', 'spieces' instead of 'species', and 'non existing' instead of 'extinct'. The phrasing is often unnatural, such as 'So Bad to Digest' and 'saved and secured at places'. While the meaning is generally conveyed, the lack of precision and the frequent errors in word formation limit the score. You should aim to use more academic vocabulary and ensure correct spelling and collocation to express your ideas more effectively.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures. There are frequent grammatical errors, including subject-verb agreement issues ('This bring', 'zoos should Saved'), incorrect verb tenses ('when I am in my childhood'), and punctuation errors. Complex structures are attempted but are often faulty, which hinders the flow of the text. To improve, you need to work on consistent verb tense usage, subject-verb agreement, and the correct formation of passive voice constructions. Increasing the variety of sentence types while maintaining accuracy is essential for moving to a higher band.
