Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 202 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you state a clear position against closing zoos, the arguments provided—such as educational benefits for children and animal protection—are underdeveloped and lack sufficient detail or illustrative examples. The points regarding political parties are somewhat tangential and not clearly linked to the core argument. To improve, you must expand your points with more depth and ensure the response meets the length requirement to allow for a full exploration of the topic.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0

The essay is organised into paragraphs, which is a positive step. However, the logical progression of ideas is often hindered by unclear phrasing and awkward transitions. For example, the transition 'Despite, the financial saving can used to growing...' is grammatically confusing and fails to connect the ideas effectively. Cohesive devices are used, but they are often misused or mechanical, such as 'Beside of this' at the end of the text, which is an incomplete sentence. Improving the use of linking words and ensuring each paragraph has a clear, singular focus will help improve the flow of your writing.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The range of vocabulary is limited and often inaccurate. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'nature beauty of the mammals', 'habitat organism', and 'unneccarey attcked'. These errors sometimes make it difficult for the reader to follow your intended meaning. You rely on basic vocabulary and struggle to use more sophisticated or precise terms. To achieve a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations (words that naturally go together) and proofreading for spelling errors, such as 'permanentely' and 'habitate'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains frequent grammatical errors that impede communication. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'The infrastructure area are not allowed'), incorrect verb forms (e.g., 'I am not supported to the this statement'), and sentence structure. Many sentences are fragmented or lack the necessary complexity expected at higher levels. Punctuation is also inconsistent. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that subjects and verbs agree and that you are using the correct tense and word order before attempting more complex structures.
