Student answer (Band 5.5)
There number of people believe that animal should be kept in the zoos anymore because of their freedom and zoos should be close. I am totally disagree with this statement and this essay will discuss the reasons behind it.
There are number of problems will face if Zoos would be closed. First of all, unemployment rate is increased as It provides number of jobs. For example, the report of Times of India, 40% of people are working in animal kept center for their livelihood in Africa. The second reason is that zoos generate revenue that is helps in the growth of country's economy. To explain, most of residents visit zoos because attractions of the animal to the children in the vacation. Thus, most of ticket get sold out as it is best place to see various animal at one place.
Moreover, although freedom is crucial for the animal, If all animal gets free in the forest then there is risk on lower level of animal as wild animal hunt and kills them effortlessly. Whereas In the zoos all animal have their seprate department and they get enough food on regular time. Lastly, in the recent time there are some animal getting died on the forest because attack of wild animal and their population is decreasing day by day which can be affects on life-cycle. So It is better to kept that animal in zoo and give protection.
In conclusion, I am disagree with the statement that zoos should be close a it helps to increase economy and best place for children to visit. Also safe for lower animals.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The essay addresses the prompt by taking a clear position against closing zoos. The ideas are relevant, focusing on economic benefits and animal protection. However, the development is somewhat limited. The argument regarding 'lower level of animal' (prey) being hunted in the wild is a valid point, but it is expressed in a simplistic way. The example provided about the 'Times of India' and Africa lacks specific context, making it feel slightly disconnected. To reach a higher band, you should expand on your points with more nuanced explanations rather than relying on brief, repetitive statements. Overall, the response is relevant and the position is consistent throughout the text.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'First of all,' 'Moreover,' and 'In conclusion' to signal the progression of your argument. However, the flow within paragraphs is sometimes hindered by awkward phrasing, such as 'There are number of problems will face if Zoos would be closed.' The referencing is occasionally unclear, and the transition between sentences can feel mechanical. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring that each sentence flows naturally into the next would significantly enhance the coherence of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and variety required for higher bands. You rely on basic terms like 'good,' 'best,' and 'problems.' There are also noticeable errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'animal kept center' instead of 'animal conservation center' or 'getting died' instead of 'dying.' While the meaning is generally clear, the lack of sophisticated vocabulary and the presence of word-choice errors limit the score. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations related to wildlife conservation and economic impact.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede the reader. Common issues include subject-verb agreement ('There number of people believe'), article usage ('on the forest'), and incorrect verb forms ('better to kept that animal'). While you attempt complex structures, they are often faulty, such as 'most of residents visit zoos because attractions of the animal to the children.' These errors are persistent throughout the text. Focusing on basic grammatical accuracy, particularly verb tenses and pluralization, will help you achieve a higher score.
