Student answer (Band 6.0)
The basic aim of zoo is to provide recreation and study platform about animals. All of the living organisms prefer to be free and boundary less and as places like zoo charges the entry fee and other maintainance fee to visit or use the natural resources present at zoo, I strongly advocate that zoo would not be needed anymore.
If an individual choose to study the behaviour or want to observe animal, they can safely go to the jungle and do the research. Although the zoo provides a platform, which is safe for both the animal and the observer, it imprisons the animals and takes animals freedom away. However, because of advance technologies like night vision camaras, motion sensing devices, and robots, an individual can easily learn about the wild animal's behaviour and lifestyle. Furthermore, zoo is also considered as recreational park. People visit zoo with friends and family to have quality time together, such as picnic or night camping. Nevertheless, people do not always choose zoo for recreational activities. As there are ample of parks and dedicated natural camp sites in the nation, tourists can choose such sites for their adventure. For instance, instead of paying certain charges to the zoo authority to have campaign done, mostly all every individual would choose to spend their night to a natural place where they do not have to pay any charges.
Therefore, I agree with the concept of shutting down zoos as they not only imprision the innocent animals, but also charges the nature lover individuals to spend time unlike other parks and conservation areas.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of closing zoos. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention technology as an alternative to zoos, the argument that people can simply 'go to the jungle' to study animals is impractical and lacks depth. The reasoning regarding the cost of zoos versus free natural sites is a relevant point, but it is not fully explored. To reach a higher band, you should provide more nuanced arguments, such as discussing the role of zoos in conservation or education, and then refuting those points, rather than focusing primarily on the recreational aspect.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'However', 'Furthermore', and 'Therefore' to link your thoughts. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition in the second paragraph. Additionally, some sentences are repetitive in structure. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid and less predictable.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'recreation', 'imprisons', and 'conservation areas'. However, there are several instances of word-choice errors and awkward collocations, such as 'boundary less', 'maintainance fee', 'have campaign done', and 'mostly all every individual'. These errors occasionally hinder the precision of your argument. To improve, focus on learning the correct collocations for common phrases and proofreading for spelling errors like 'camaras' and 'imprision'. Expanding your vocabulary to include more precise academic terminology would also be beneficial.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While you attempt complex sentences, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with articles ('the zoo', 'a zoo'), subject-verb agreement ('zoo... charges'), and pluralization ('animal's behaviour' vs 'animals' behaviour'). Some sentences are also slightly ungrammatical, such as 'All of the living organisms prefer to be free and boundary less'. While these errors do not completely impede communication, they are frequent enough to affect the overall flow. Increasing your control over basic grammar and punctuation will help improve your score.
