Student answer (Band 6.5)
It is irrefutable that animals also have the right to live their life freely same as human beings are. However there are some people who believes that animal should be relieved out of the zoos and should be kept free in the forest and the zoos must be completely shut down. In my opinion, I disagree with this statement as I think, apart from entertainment purpose, zoos are also built for animal conservation , who are at the verge of extinction.
The main reason why the wildlife is protected in zoos is to preserve the species which are on the verge of extinction. Herbivorous animals which lives in the forest are always in danger from carnivorous animals. Although having freedom in the natural environment, such species are in fear of being preyed by stertiary consumers. Apart from that some carnivorous species are hunted by the human predators to acquire their skin for clothing purpose. For Example Gorillas are are threatened by hunting and habitat destruction and their presence will soon be eliminated from forest. This proves that saving such endangered animals in zoos is a worthy step to protect wildlife.
On the other hand, such unspoken animal have also a right to live freely in their natural habitat. Captivating them in a zoological confinement just for entertainment purpose without proper care is a cruel human step which should be address promptly because this onl not snatches their freedom but also shows the human dominance. However if appropriate care is taken about food, space and freedom on daily basis apart from the entertainment scenario, then it is worth to keep them in zoos where they live their life fearlessly.
To conclude, zoos should be kept open with the proper precaution of animals so they feel safe and their species are saved for future generation.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have clearly stated your position and maintained it throughout the essay. You address the prompt by discussing both the conservation benefits of zoos and the ethical concerns regarding animal freedom. However, the development of your ideas is somewhat uneven. For instance, your argument about herbivorous animals being preyed upon by 'tertiary consumers' is a bit confusing and lacks a clear link to why zoos are the only solution. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting examples, such as the mention of Gorillas, are more directly connected to the core argument of conservation versus captivity. Overall, the response is relevant and addresses all parts of the task.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized into paragraphs, each with a clear central theme. You use some cohesive devices, such as 'However', 'Apart from that', and 'On the other hand', to guide the reader. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical or abrupt. For example, the shift between the second and third paragraphs could be smoother. Additionally, there are some minor issues with referencing and sentence-level flow, such as the phrase 'this onl not snatches their freedom', which disrupts the coherence of the sentence. Improving the variety and precision of your linking words would help elevate your score in this criterion.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'irrefutable', 'extinction', and 'confinement'. However, there are several instances of word choice errors and awkward collocations that slightly impede the flow. For example, 'relieved out of the zoos' is not standard English, and 'stertiary consumers' appears to be a misspelling of 'tertiary'. Additionally, 'unspoken animal' is an unusual choice to describe animals. While your meaning is generally clear, you need to focus on using more precise collocations and ensuring that less common vocabulary is used accurately to reach the higher bands.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, which is good. However, there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, such as subject-verb agreement issues ('some people who believes', 'animals which lives') and punctuation errors. There are also some awkward phrasings, such as 'this onl not snatches their freedom', which suggest a lack of careful proofreading. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they occur frequently enough to limit your score. Focusing on basic subject-verb agreement and refining your complex sentence construction will significantly improve your accuracy.
