Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays zoos need to be closed because we don’t have to kept animals in it.i am totally agree with the statement and In the upcoming paragraph i will discuss about it.
To begun with, A huge range of individuals used visit zoo to see animals. It used be fun to them to have such experience and they enjoy the time with their loved ones. However, it these day’s with the help of social media we got clips of zoo members beating animals and hurting them which is really sad. Many social workers and communities came around to help them and release them. One of the example can be the zoo in india where elephants were seem beating and not giving proper food. Moving further, now people go for jungle safari to watch animals and it is really great that they are living their life enjoying their own environment but still we see them. I have done jungle safari 3 times and it is really fun.
On the other hand, many people think that it is relatively hard to see a tiger or a lion in safari the prefer zoo rather then safari. However animals life are vital to the ecosystem and we should take care of them not by keeping them in the zoo. Also taking them far from there family just for fun is not worth it.
To conclude it, i am totally agree with that we do not need to keep animals in the zoo. They should be free and having their own way of life.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. While you mention social media clips and jungle safaris, the arguments lack depth and supporting evidence. For instance, the example of the zoo in India is relevant but could be expanded to explain why this necessitates the closure of all zoos rather than just better regulation. The conclusion restates your position, but the essay would benefit from more nuanced exploration of the counter-arguments regarding conservation or education, which are common themes in this topic. Overall, the response is relevant but remains at a basic level of development.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5
The essay is organised into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate (e.g., 'To begun with', 'Moving further', 'To conclude it'). There are also issues with referencing; for example, 'it these day’s' is unclear in its reference. The progression of ideas is sometimes disjointed, particularly in the second paragraph where the transition from social media to jungle safaris feels abrupt. Improving the variety and accuracy of linking words would significantly enhance the flow of your writing.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is generally adequate for the task but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. There is frequent repetition of simple words like 'fun', 'animals', and 'zoo'. Some word choices are unnatural or incorrect, such as 'zoo members' (likely meaning staff or keepers) and 'animals life are vital'. You attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary, but the lack of control over collocations and word forms limits the effectiveness of your expression. To improve, focus on learning synonyms and common collocations related to animal welfare and environmental issues.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, including subject-verb agreement ('animals life are vital'), verb tense issues ('used visit', 'were seem beating'), and missing articles. Sentence structures are predominantly simple, and attempts at more complex sentences often contain errors that can cause the reader some difficulty. Punctuation is also inconsistent, with issues regarding capitalization and apostrophes (e.g., 'day’s'). While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic structures prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Focusing on basic sentence construction and proofreading for common errors would be beneficial.
