Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response fails to meet the minimum word count requirement of 250 words, reaching only 175 words. This significantly impacts the development of ideas. While you present a position, the arguments are underdeveloped and lack sufficient depth or supporting detail. For example, the mention of the Arabian oryx is a good start, but it is not expanded upon to fully support your argument. To improve, you must ensure you write at least 250 words to allow for a more thorough exploration of your points, ensuring each paragraph contains a clear topic sentence followed by detailed explanation and relevant examples.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organized into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak. While you use some cohesive devices like 'First and foremost' and 'On the other hand', the transitions between ideas are sometimes abrupt or repetitive. For instance, the paragraphing is inconsistent, and the concluding sentence does not effectively summarize the main arguments presented. To improve, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensure that each paragraph has a clear, singular focus that flows naturally into the next. Improving the structure of your introduction and conclusion will also help provide a more coherent framework for your arguments.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for basic communication but lacks the range and precision required for higher bands. You rely on simple phrasing, such as 'grab some knowledge' and 'give freely environment', which are not natural collocations. There are also issues with word choice, such as 'wildfire' instead of 'wildlife' or 'natural threats'. To improve, try to incorporate more academic vocabulary and precise collocations. Focus on learning how words are used in context rather than just memorizing individual terms. Expanding your range will help you express your ideas with more sophistication and clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text that occasionally impede clarity. Examples include 'to giving opportunity', 'visiting to another countries', and 'no need to closed the zoos'. Your sentence structures are mostly simple, with limited attempts at complex sentences. When you do attempt more complex structures, errors in verb tense and preposition usage often occur. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically subject-verb agreement and the correct use of infinitives. Proofreading for common errors like article usage and pluralization will also significantly improve the accuracy of your writing.
