Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is undeniable that fauna plays an imperative role in our world. Some individuals believe that there is no need to keep these creatures in zoos and these places should be permanently shut down. I totally disagree with this notion, and the reasons for my disagreement will be discussed in the upcoming paragraphs.
First of all, zoo's are playing an important part to save the species that are on the edge on extinction and also help to spread awareness about different types of animals. Moreover, there is a huge contribution of these wildlife conservation places to secure the animals from this cruel world and they also contribute to save more categories of animals by spreading awareness or by collecting funds for the sake of these wild animals well-being. A survey in Canada revealed that zoo helped to save 85% of the animals after the wildfire that happened in the northern side.
Moving towards the benefits of keeping wild animals in zoo's, that helps to avoid the accidents. Because if some of the wild species live free on roads, in parks or in cities. It will create a danger for the mankind. As individuals are not aware about the behavior of animal. For example, one article in new times revealed that 70% of accidents happend in Punjab due to the cows that are roaming aroung the roads.
In conclusion, It is true that without the zoo's in every city, it is hard to survive with freedom. This is not only difficult for humans but also for animals to live in the open area.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. However, the development of ideas is somewhat superficial. For instance, the argument regarding 'accidents' caused by animals roaming free is a bit illogical in the context of zoo conservation, as most zoo animals are not local wildlife that would otherwise roam city streets. The example of cows in Punjab is also not directly relevant to the debate about zoos. While the response covers all parts of the task, the supporting arguments lack depth and logical consistency, which prevents it from reaching a higher band score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, and there is a clear introduction and conclusion. Cohesive devices are used, such as 'First of all', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion', which help the flow of the text. However, some transitions are mechanical, and the logical progression within paragraphs is occasionally weak, particularly in the second body paragraph where the link between zoo animals and road accidents is tenuous. Referencing is generally clear, but the overall structure could be more sophisticated to improve the flow of ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
The vocabulary is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their opinion clearly. There are some attempts at using less common vocabulary, such as 'imperative' and 'extinction'. However, there are several errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'wildlife conservation places' instead of 'wildlife conservation centers' and 'survive with freedom'. Additionally, there are persistent errors with apostrophes, such as 'zoo's' used as a plural, which is a recurring mechanical error. The range is sufficient but lacks the precision required for a higher band.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
The student uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the meaning is generally clear, there are frequent grammatical errors, particularly with punctuation (the misuse of apostrophes in 'zoo's' and 'animal's') and sentence construction. For example, 'Because if some of the wild species live free on roads...' is a sentence fragment. There are also errors in subject-verb agreement and article usage. While these errors do not impede communication, they are frequent enough to prevent the essay from reaching the 7.0 band, which requires frequent error-free sentences.
