Student answer (Band 6.0)
Zoos are important in present time for number of reason which include visiting the animals for observing them and they also help in research of some animals so, I agreee that zoos should not be closed.
Animals in the zoo are taken care daily if there is any problem related to their health and secure properly in observed environment. For example there is a place called vantera in mumbai they keep all the elephants and taken care of them even they face any dietry problems in this way the focus on their is increased. They are also vitial in maintaining the divesrsity in the environment. Zoos is the best plac eto see all the animals in live, for instance the chennai zoological park ha thousands of animals spread around hundered acears.
On the other hand if zoos are closed it is difficult to protect some animals in closed environment. In india the tiger population became engangered and the number is decreasing every decade then they brought to the zoo and taken tcare iof them so that the reason now the population of them is increased rapidly and the status of them is now changed to vulnerable.. Now a days even children can't even differentiate between cow and OX because they mostly observe them on screeen rather than live though Zoos are the best places for them to experience the animals.
In conclusion, I disagree that zoos should be closed because they provide all around the development of biodiversity nad nature. From the above reasons they are also help for visiting animals and learn about them.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position in favor of zoos. The ideas are relevant, focusing on conservation, research, and education. However, the development is somewhat superficial. For instance, the mention of 'Vantera' and 'Chennai zoological park' provides specific examples, but the explanation of how these contribute to the broader argument is slightly underdeveloped. The conclusion reiterates the position, but the points could be more effectively synthesized to provide a more persuasive argument. To reach a higher band, ensure that each supporting point is fully explained with clear logical links to the main thesis.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a central theme. There is a clear progression of ideas from the introduction to the conclusion. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly awkward, such as the transition 'From the above reasons they are also help'. Referencing is occasionally unclear, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. While the paragraphing is sufficient, the internal cohesion within paragraphs lacks the sophistication required for a higher band. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring they are used naturally would enhance the overall flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is adequate for the task but lacks range and precision. There are several spelling errors, such as 'agreee', 'divesrsity', 'plac eto', 'hundered acears', 'tcare iof', and 'nad'. These errors are frequent and occasionally distracting. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'biodiversity', 'endangered', and 'vulnerable', the overall lexical control is limited. To improve, the student should focus on accurate spelling and expanding their range of collocations to express ideas more precisely rather than relying on repetitive or basic phrasing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay uses a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout. Issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Zoos is the best plac'), missing articles, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'in present time for number of reason'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with comma usage. While the meaning is generally clear, the high frequency of errors in basic grammar structures prevents the essay from reaching a higher band. A greater focus on proofreading for subject-verb agreement and article usage would significantly improve the accuracy of the writing.
