Student answer (Band 6.0)
In these modern era we have seen increase in humanity among people towards animal cruelty. People often see zoos as one of part which promotes animal harm rather than its vital purpose to provide leisure or information to public. It is a contentious argument that zoos should be ban or not. I agree with this statement to some extent. I will be providing some reasons along with examples to support my viewpoint in upcoming paragraphs.
Nowadays, animal parks are not that popular and successful in terms of generating revenue. To exemplify, youngsters of this era do not find zoos that appealing so they do not visit them anymore which leads to poor maintenance of species present and has direct impact on their health conditions. In addition, creatures are usually kept in close confined place which limits their movement and interfere their tendency to survive in natural habitate. For instance 2 years prior I read one article which demonstrated that due to negligence of one zoo names Vantara an elephant died because he was kept under captivity with no sun light and according to research elephants need direct sunlight as a part of their habitate.
On the contrary, If animal parks get close it will lead to loss of many employment opportunities. Many small households depends on zoos for their livelihood and it will come to end. In addition to it, their are many enthusiastic invidiuals who like to learn about different spices and they rely on zoos as learning materials or place.
To conclude, although I stand against animal cruelty which happens due to poor care and negligence of management of zoos but there should be some other solutions to take control of it rather than putting full ban on zoos.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a balanced position. You have identified both the negative aspects of zoos and the potential economic benefits of keeping them open. However, the development of ideas is somewhat uneven. The argument regarding the decline in zoo popularity is asserted without strong evidence, and the example of the elephant is specific but could be better integrated into a broader argument about animal welfare. To reach a higher band, ensure that your supporting points are fully extended and that your position remains consistent throughout the essay. You have addressed all parts of the task, but the depth of analysis is limited, which keeps this in the mid-range.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use some cohesive devices such as 'To exemplify', 'In addition', and 'On the contrary' to link ideas. However, some transitions feel slightly mechanical, and the flow between sentences could be smoother. For example, the transition between the discussion of animal welfare and the economic impact is abrupt. The use of referencing is generally clear, but there are instances where the connection between ideas could be more explicit to improve the overall progression of your argument.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'contentious', 'negligence', and 'livelihood'. However, there are several errors in word choice and spelling that occasionally impede clarity, such as 'habitate' (habitat), 'spices' (species), and 'invidiuals' (individuals). Additionally, some phrases are slightly unnatural, such as 'one of part which promotes'. To improve, focus on using vocabulary more precisely and ensuring correct spelling of key terms related to the topic. Expanding your range to include more sophisticated collocations would also help elevate your score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include 'In these modern era' (this modern era), 'zoos should be ban' (banned), and 'their are many' (there are). Subject-verb agreement and article usage are inconsistent. While these errors do not prevent the reader from understanding your main points, they are frequent enough to limit the score. To improve, pay closer attention to basic grammatical rules, such as pluralization and verb forms, and try to incorporate more complex structures with greater accuracy.
