Student answer (Band 6.0)
Animals are the part of human life. It has been suggested that animal sanctuaries ought to be shut down as they people do not have necessities to keep them in zoos. However, I fully disagree with this given statement and I will share my disagreement with strong reasons in upcoming paragraphs.
To begin with, the primary factor is animal parks serve as a home for the extinct animals. To explain it, there are many animals which are at the risk of endangered, with the help of conservation program they live more years and researchers can do breeding of endangered one's. For example, it is very rare to see Giant Panda in forest areas that is why they have kept in zoos so that they stay safe and continue more generation of it. Moreover, these kind of parks are helpful for scientists and educators to understand their habitat, behavior, and reproduction system.
Moving further, government collect revenues from different sources and zoological region is one of the source, which can help state to generate good income. To elaborate it, it is hard to open zoos in every cities so it has been opened in most of big cities. When visitors visit to other city's zoos then they have to pay fees, as a result it help to generate revenue and income for the care takers in parks. For instance, Toronto zoo is the Canada's largest wildlife center, number of fauna lives over there and visitors get information about them.
In conclusion, it is judicious step to keep open the zoos instead of knocking down as they have been proved significant both economically and education purpose.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt and maintains a clear position throughout. The arguments regarding conservation and economic benefits are relevant and supported with examples, such as the mention of the Giant Panda and the Toronto Zoo. However, the development is somewhat limited; the explanation of how zoos contribute to conservation could be more nuanced, and the economic argument is slightly repetitive. While the position is clear, the ideas are presented in a somewhat simplistic manner, which prevents the response from reaching a higher band. Overall, the task is addressed adequately, but further elaboration on the counter-arguments or deeper analysis of the benefits would strengthen the response.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is logically organized into clear paragraphs, each with a central theme. Cohesive devices such as 'To begin with', 'Moreover', 'Moving further', and 'In conclusion' are used to guide the reader. However, the use of these devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly unnatural, such as 'zoological region is one of the source'. Referencing is generally clear, though some transitions between sentences within paragraphs feel a bit abrupt. The paragraphing is appropriate, and the overall progression of ideas is easy to follow, meeting the requirements for a band 6.0.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary is sufficient to convey the intended meaning, but it lacks the precision and flexibility required for higher bands. There are several instances of awkward phrasing or incorrect word choices, such as 'endangered one's', 'continue more generation', and 'zoological region'. While the student attempts to use topic-specific vocabulary like 'conservation program' and 'reproduction system', the overall range is limited. The errors in collocation and word formation do not impede communication, but they are noticeable and indicate a need for a more sophisticated command of English vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay displays a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. While the student attempts complex sentences, they are often marred by grammatical errors, such as 'animals which are at the risk of endangered' (should be 'at risk of extinction') and 'it has been opened in most of big cities'. Punctuation is generally functional, but there are errors in article usage and subject-verb agreement throughout the text. The majority of sentences contain minor errors, though these rarely prevent the reader from understanding the message. A greater focus on sentence variety and grammatical accuracy is needed.
