Student answer (Band 6.0)
Zoo plays a crucial in the society as well as in terms of economy to the government as well as helps to support wild life animals.
To begin with the first point of zoo life. Animals have a safer life in the zoo compared to the open wild life as there are more and more hunting cases going on in the jungles and public places. Cause, we already know that zoo are more safer cause they are well treated and nourished in the zoo by the care taker, where as on the other hand in the jungles there are various challenges they need to face off. Secondly, it help in plays a crucial role in educating the upcoming generations. To understand that, most of the animal are encounter are done in the zoo, cause there are different species in zoo which humans can see and acknowledge it and gain some understanding about those species which they might never see in the wild cause its hard to encounter or lets say rare to find. So, that by having those species in the zoo humans can improve their knowledge about the animals and their lifestyle.
Moving further, there are more changes of saving any extinction species. To understand this, if any species is about to extinct in the wild then there are less changes compared to the zoo cause of the care taker, which take their proper care and keep track of their daily activities and food consumption, which results in to their improvement in health and safer life compared to the one in wild. Also, zoo plays a role in supporting the government in term of finance. To understand this in more detail, zoo helps in generating a financial that can help the government in their growth and easier development cause zoo are one of the eye catching sports of the tourist and with the help of that they can earn some money and that can be used for taking care of the animals, the care taker, maintenance of the zoo also they can give small amount to the government, which they can use for the executing new rules or regulation.
To conclude this, I strongly disagree with the idea of closing the zoo. Cause it has more positive side and almost no negative draw back of that.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position against closing zoos. The ideas are relevant, focusing on animal welfare, education, and economic benefits. However, the development is somewhat repetitive and lacks depth. For instance, the argument regarding 'extinction species' is a strong point but is explained in a simplistic way. To reach a higher band, you should provide more specific examples or evidence to support your claims rather than repeating the same general points about 'care takers' and 'safety'. The position is clear throughout, but the supporting arguments could be more nuanced and better extended to fully satisfy the requirements for a higher score.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay is organized into logical paragraphs, each with a clear focus. You use some cohesive devices like 'To begin with', 'Secondly', and 'Moving further' to signal transitions. However, the flow is sometimes hindered by repetitive phrasing and awkward sentence structures. The use of referencing is occasionally unclear, and some transitions feel mechanical. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that each sentence flows naturally into the next without relying on repetitive structures like 'To understand this' or 'To understand that', which appear multiple times and disrupt the logical progression of your ideas.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is generally adequate for the task but lacks the precision and range required for a higher band. You rely on basic terms like 'good', 'safe', and 'help', and there are several instances of word-choice errors, such as 'eye catching sports' instead of 'attractions' and 'any extinction species' instead of 'endangered species'. There is also some repetition of vocabulary, particularly regarding 'zoo' and 'animals'. To improve, focus on learning topic-specific collocations and synonyms to express your ideas with more sophistication and accuracy.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.5
The essay contains a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors that occasionally impede clarity. Common issues include subject-verb agreement (e.g., 'Zoo plays a crucial', 'most of the animal are encounter'), incorrect preposition use, and awkward phrasing (e.g., 'there are more changes of saving'). Punctuation is generally functional, but the sentence construction often feels clunky. To improve, focus on mastering basic subject-verb agreement and sentence structure. Reducing the number of run-on sentences and ensuring that your complex sentences are grammatically sound will significantly improve your score.
