Student answer (Band 5.0)
Qustion is rising on zoos. We no more need to keep animals in cage . They should release in jungles . I am not supporting this . In upcoming paragraphs I am going to explain why they should keep in zoos .
Firstly , it can dispear endangers speices . In this present era few flora and fauna are in red line list . This list published by internation wildlife teams , in these list have name of those animals . Which are just couple in numbers . If these animals will not keep in in buildings , they can be became prey of predators and after that we can never see those catagerious in upcoming years. If they will stay in zoo , they will get proper treatment , if will unhealthy , because zoo have specialist teams . They can properly treatment of them .
Now , those animals are use to of comfort zone . If they will go out of they can not survive . For instance , Discovery channel did research on eagle . This eagle was brought to zoo , when they were in danger . After hard work of doctors team saw rise in population of these eagles . They made plan to release this eagle from cage . They saw when they gave him freedom from cage the eagle was unable to fly . It was forgot how to fly . So if we send these creators out of zoos they can not hunt , because they are getting food in jail from humans .
Overall, If we do not want to loss some creators . Zoos are suitable place for them until they are in danger as well as if animals go out these jails , they cannot find there food at the end we will see them died .

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.5
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear position in favor of zoos. The ideas regarding species conservation and the inability of captive-bred animals to survive in the wild are relevant. However, the development is somewhat limited by language barriers. While the main arguments are present, they lack depth and specific, well-explained examples. The mention of the 'Discovery channel' is a good attempt at providing evidence, but the explanation of the eagle's inability to fly is slightly repetitive. To improve, you should focus on expanding your arguments with more detailed reasoning and ensuring that your position is consistently maintained throughout the essay.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.0
The essay is organized into paragraphs, which helps the reader follow the structure. However, the use of cohesive devices is often mechanical or inaccurate, such as the repetitive use of 'If' to start sentences and the awkward transition 'Now, those animals are use to of comfort zone'. The logical progression between ideas is sometimes hindered by grammatical errors, making the flow feel disjointed. To improve, you should practice using a wider variety of linking words (e.g., 'furthermore', 'consequently', 'nevertheless') and ensure that your referencing (e.g., 'these', 'those') clearly points back to the intended nouns.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary is limited and often imprecise, which occasionally impedes communication. There are frequent errors in word choice and collocation, such as 'dispear endangers speices' (prevent the extinction of endangered species), 'red line list' (Red List), and 'catagerious' (categories). The repetition of basic words like 'animals', 'zoo', and 'cage' suggests a need for a broader range of synonyms. While the meaning is generally understandable, the lack of precision and the presence of spelling errors (e.g., 'creators' instead of 'creatures') significantly impact the quality of the writing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay relies heavily on simple sentence structures, and attempts at complex sentences are frequently marred by grammatical errors. There are consistent issues with subject-verb agreement ('zoo have specialist teams'), article usage, and verb tense consistency ('they can be became prey'). Punctuation is also problematic, with spaces placed before commas and periods. These errors are frequent and often cause the reader to pause, though they do not completely prevent the message from being understood. To reach a higher band, you must focus on mastering basic sentence construction and reducing errors in verb forms and prepositions.
