Student answer (Band 5.5)

While many people belives that we have to kept the animal in zoo, and many says we have to closed the zoos and we not need it now .But , i totally disagree with this because zoos play very important role in education and bonding between humans and animals

Firstly , zoos have very rich and old history . In our world the existence of zoos is very long . Zoo play very important role towards the bonding between human and animals. With the help of zoo people realize how animals are important how much friendly they are . Most of the people take their child to zoos in holidays rather than going to anywhere else . It is good thing because if child go to the zoos they get knowladge about many new soecies of animal and it also help to improve the bonding between them . If child goes to zoos they can see many spcies and doing fun activities them and also then can remove their fear for animals which is very important.

Moreover , zoos is also important for economy too Because , zoos are atrract so many tourist and which make the economy more strong . After this zoo also give many employment opportunity to the local residence . If all the zoos are closed then it make very big and negative impact on the country economy

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0

You have clearly stated your position against closing zoos, which is maintained throughout the essay. You address the prompt by providing reasons related to education and the economy. However, the development of these ideas is somewhat limited. For example, the point about 'bonding' is repeated several times without much elaboration, and the economic argument is quite general. To reach a higher band, you should aim to provide more specific examples or deeper analysis of how zoos contribute to conservation or scientific research, rather than focusing primarily on tourism and general 'bonding'. The response is relevant, but the arguments lack depth.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0

The essay is organised into clear paragraphs, which helps the reader follow your argument. You use basic cohesive devices such as 'Firstly', 'Moreover', and 'In conclusion' to signal the structure. However, the flow between sentences is sometimes mechanical, and there are issues with referencing and logical progression. For instance, the transition between the history of zoos and the bonding argument in the second paragraph is a bit abrupt. Additionally, some sentences are repetitive, which affects the overall coherence. Improving the variety of linking words and ensuring each sentence builds logically on the previous one would enhance your score.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.5

Your vocabulary is generally adequate for the task, but it is quite repetitive and lacks precision. You frequently use basic words like 'important', 'good', and 'big'. There are also several spelling errors, such as 'belives', 'knowladge', 'soecies', and 'realtionship', which occasionally distract the reader. While you attempt to use some topic-specific vocabulary like 'species' and 'employment opportunity', the range is limited. To improve, try to incorporate more sophisticated synonyms and ensure you are using collocations correctly, such as 'strengthen the economy' instead of 'make the economy more strong'.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

There are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text, particularly with subject-verb agreement ('many people belives', 'zoos is also important') and article usage. Sentence structures are mostly simple, and there are several errors in basic sentence construction, such as 'many says we have to closed the zoos'. While the meaning is generally clear, these persistent errors in basic grammar and punctuation (such as the misplaced comma in 'But , i') indicate a lack of control over complex structures. Focusing on basic accuracy and proofreading for subject-verb agreement would significantly improve your writing.
