Student answer (Band 5.0)

Through different forms of print and digital media, we come across reports that nowadays majority of people prefer to keep small animals with them in their house.

There is an ongoing debate wheather we no need to have animals keep in zoo,so zoos should be closed permanently. As far as my opinion is concerned,I strongly accede.

My stand can be justified with some intresting observations. The most convincing point in this regard is that people like to keep small pets with them like cats, dogs and so on.This view exits as they like to spend their free time to play with pets.As a result,it helps to reduce their stress even they like to going outside with their pets whenever they get free time.

Moreover,my opinion can be bolstered with the fact that majority of people are like to take care of their pets. This hypothesis is buoyed in the Idea that they have perfect knowledge about how we can treat with animals even they also take care about their food like all zoos do.

Apart from these, I can not ignore the fact that people also take care about animal's health.By this I mean that they always try to make their body fit. They treats animals like zoo.A global research in this matter has proven that there are 90% people from my country who like to keep animals with them and take care of them so they do not need zoos anymore.

All in all, future will unfold many surprises for us.athe need is to be proactive and plough ahead with optimism.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 5.0

The response addresses the prompt but fails to engage with the core issue of zoos. The argument focuses almost exclusively on the benefits of keeping small pets at home, which is largely irrelevant to the function and existence of zoos. While you state your position clearly, the supporting ideas are not well-developed or relevant to the specific topic of whether zoos should be closed. You mention that people treat animals like zoos, but this is a vague comparison that does not provide a logical justification for closing professional conservation or educational facilities. To improve, ensure your arguments directly address the specific role of zoos rather than general pet ownership.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 5.5

The essay is organised into paragraphs, but the logical progression is weak because the ideas do not clearly support the main thesis. While you use some cohesive devices like 'Moreover' and 'Apart from these', they are often used to connect ideas that are not logically related to the previous point. The referencing is sometimes unclear, such as in the phrase 'This hypothesis is buoyed in the Idea', which lacks a clear antecedent. Paragraphing is present, but the internal structure of the paragraphs lacks the necessary flow to guide the reader effectively through your argument.

Lexical Resource — Band 5.0

The vocabulary is limited and repetitive. You rely on basic phrasing such as 'take care of' and 'keep animals'. There are several instances of awkward word choice and collocation errors, such as 'accede' (which is used incorrectly here) and 'make their body fit'. While you attempt to use some more formal language, the lack of precision and the frequent misuse of terms hinder the clarity of your message. To reach a higher band, you should focus on learning collocations related to animal welfare and conservation, and avoid using words unless you are certain of their meaning in context.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0

The essay contains a high frequency of grammatical errors that occasionally impede communication. There are frequent issues with subject-verb agreement ('majority of people are like to take care'), article usage ('in the Idea'), and sentence structure ('even they like to going outside'). Punctuation is also inconsistent, with missing spaces after commas and periods. While you attempt some complex sentences, they are often grammatically flawed. To improve, focus on mastering basic sentence construction, specifically ensuring that verbs are correctly conjugated and that prepositions are used accurately in common phrases.
