Student answer (Band 6.5)
Many people believe that zoos are no longer needed and should be closed. I totally disagree with given statement, as many organised zoos conserve wildlife better than nature. I believe governments should mandate strict guidlines to keep them running to maintain animals well-being.
First of all, many private zoos are well maintained to protect wild species from getting extinct. For example, many zoos promote healthy living environment and wider space for animals to mimic natural habitat, which promotes reproduction for endangered species. Recently, many global news have reported some of the zoos around the world have became home for many species that are on the verge of extinction. Such classified and organised institutes should be supported to protect nature and keep the wild animals safe in ecology.
Secondly, childrens visiting zoos learn effectively about aminals when they physically observe them. Many schools plan such visits for students to connect with wild animals, teachers become guide on these trips to educate children about wildlife. The zoos that promote conservation of wild animals become an important example for childrens to protect nature. Not only children, even adults are educated when they visit with their family. Because zoo is easily accesssible and convenient to watch wildlife rather than going into forests or national parks, which are quite dangerous for both humans and animals.
In conclusion, wildlife documentries are present to guide and educate people, but connecting in-person with them gives interactive learning. So zoos should be open only when they are maintained, else they should be closed to protect animals from cruelty.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5
You have clearly stated your position in the introduction and maintained it throughout the essay. The response addresses both the conservation aspect and the educational value of zoos. However, the development of ideas is somewhat limited. For instance, the point about zoos being 'better than nature' is a strong claim that requires more specific evidence or explanation to be fully convincing. While you provide relevant examples, such as the role of zoos in preventing extinction and their educational benefits for children, the arguments could be extended further to reach a higher band. Overall, you have addressed all parts of the task effectively.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5
The essay is logically organized with a clear introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. You use transition signals such as 'First of all', 'Secondly', and 'In conclusion' to guide the reader. However, the use of cohesive devices is sometimes mechanical or slightly repetitive. For example, the transition between the idea of children learning and the accessibility of zoos is a bit abrupt. Paragraphing is used appropriately, and there is a clear progression of ideas throughout the text. To improve, try to vary your linking words and ensure that the relationship between sentences is more fluid.
Lexical Resource — Band 6.0
You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, including terms like 'endangered species', 'natural habitat', and 'conservation'. However, there are several spelling errors, such as 'guidlines', 'aminals', 'accesssible', and 'documentries'. Additionally, some word choices are slightly imprecise, such as 'global news have reported' (should be 'news reports have indicated') and 'maintained' used repeatedly. While these errors do not impede communication, they prevent the essay from reaching a higher band. Focusing on accurate spelling and more precise collocations will significantly enhance your lexical score.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures. There are several grammatical slips, such as 'many global news have reported' (subject-verb agreement/countable noun error) and 'zoos around the world have became' (incorrect verb form). You also have some punctuation and article usage issues, such as 'childrens' (should be 'children') and 'zoo is easily accesssible' (missing article). Despite these errors, the meaning is always clear, and the errors do not cause difficulty for the reader. To improve, pay closer attention to subject-verb agreement and the correct use of plural forms.
