Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people commits that animal and other creatures should not be kept in zoos and it is not mandatory to have a place like zoo. I personally not agree with this idea. The zoos are the most popular visited place by the pupils of the schools. It plays a key part for their learning and gaining a practical vision of the animals and birds for the children. Some research has also been taking place at zoo to know more about special creatures.
Firstly, the students learn theory of creatures in the school. However, they are only be able to see them physically and relate their learning into reality at the places like zoo. Taking an example, School organize a picnic day at zoo and ask students to identify the animals they learn and their patterns of eating, drinking, sleeping and much more.
Furthermore, many researchers often visit zoo to carry out reserach about some distinct animal species and also about the endagered animals. According to the reserach, many studies identified the patterns of animals and their living habits mimics the human beings and that was a most rated topic for the students who study botany and specifically animals and birds.
Taking everything into an account, zoo is the place where a populations could gain an insight about the mammals and unique creatures. The place where we can conserve some species which are going to distinct in near future. Reserachers could get a site to study in depth and publish articles to help aid other students who are fascinated to learn about animals and birds.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by clearly stating a position that the student disagrees with the closure of zoos. The main ideas regarding educational benefits for school pupils and opportunities for scientific research are introduced and partially developed. For instance, the writer notes that schools organize picnic days to help children observe animals and understand their behaviours in reality. However, some ideas remain slightly under-developed or repetitive, particularly in the conclusion where points are restated rather than extended. Nevertheless, all parts of the task are addressed with a clear stance maintained throughout, aligning well with the expectations of Band 6.0.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The text presents a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraphing, dividing the introduction, body points, and conclusion adequately. Cohesive devices are used to signal progression, such as 'Firstly', 'Furthermore', and 'Taking everything into an account'. However, cohesion is sometimes mechanical or faulty, as seen in awkward referencing like 'the place where we can conserve some species which are going to distinct in near future'. Paragraphing is present, but logical progression between sentences within paragraphs could be smoother and better linked, leading to a Band 6.0 performance.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.5
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to communicate their main points about animal conservation and education. The writer attempts some less common vocabulary such as 'distinct animal species', 'endagered animals', and 'mammals', but these attempts are occasionally marred by word-choice or spelling errors (e.g., 'commits' instead of 'admits' or 'claims', 'reserach', 'endagered', 'distinct' instead of 'extinct'). While communication is not severely impeded, these noticeable errors and limited precision place the lexical range firmly at Band 5.5.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The essay displays a mix of simple and some complex sentence forms, such as 'Although' or relative clauses, though many complex structures contain grammatical errors. Examples include 'I personally not agree with this idea' (missing auxiliary verb) and 'they are only be able to see them physically' (incorrect modal structure). Punctuation and article use are occasionally faulty, and subject-verb agreement issues appear in sentences like 'Many people commits'. These frequent errors in grammar cause some difficulty for the reader, fitting the descriptors for Band 5.0.
