Student answer (Band 5.5)
IN THIS CONTEMPARY ERA, MOST OF THE INDIVIDUALS BELIEVE THAT ZOOS SHOULD BE CLOSED WHILE OTHER THINK THAT WE SHOULD BUILD MORE ZOOS FOR ANIMALS. I STATE THAT ANIMALS SHOULD KEEP IN THE ZOOS INTEAD OF LEAVE THEM IN THE FOREST. I WILL EXPLAIN MY VIEWPOINTS IN THE SUBSEQUENT PARAGRAPHS.
THE PRIMARY REASON IS THAT ANIMALS ARE SAFE IN THE ZOOS AS COMPARED TO MOVING HERE AND THERE. THEY CAN GET PROPER TAKE CARE IN THE ZOOS. AS ANIMALS EAT THEIR FOOD ON TIME AND THEY ARE SAFE FROM VERY BIG ANIMALS AS WELL AS HUNTERS.THEREFORE, ANIMALS GET PROPER TREATMENT IN THE ZOOS AND LIVE SECURELY. IN ADDITION TO THIS, ANIMALS GET LOVE FROM NUMEROUS PEOPLE. AS INDIVIDUALS VISIT ZOOS AND JUNGLE SAFARI WITH THEIR CHILDREN FOR OUTING OR ON VACCATIONS. THEY SPEND MONEY TO BUY TICKETS AND BRING SOME FOOD FOR THEM. AS A RESULT, SHOW LOVE TOWARDS ANIMALS LIKE ZEBRA, GIRAFFE. ZOO OWNERS SHOULD SPEND THAT MONEY ON ANIMALS WELLNESS. FURTHERMORE, STUDENTS LIKE TO COME ZOOS TO SEE THE DIFFERENT ANIMALS AND BOOST THEIR KNOWLEDGE ABOUT ANIMAL CREATURES. DUE TO THIS, SCHOLARS TAKE ASSIST FROM THIS ATTARCTION PLACES.
ON THE OTHER HAND, IF THE ZOOS WILL CLOSED THEN ANIMALS FEEL FEAR FROM BIG ANIMALS AND HUNTERS. FOR EXAMPLE SMALL ANIMALS DEARS, BEARS, MONKEYS HAVE NO SECUREY FROM BIG ANIMALS LIKE LION, ELEPHANTS. AS A RESULT, SOME CREATURES WILL DISAPPEAR FROM THIS WORLD. ADDTIONELY, COWS MOVING ON THE ROADS AND GET HIT FROM VEHICLES
IN CONCLUSION, ALTHOUGH SOME PEOPLE DO NOT LIKE ANIMALS IN ZOOS , INDIVIDUALS SHOULD TAKE CARE AND GIVE RESPECT THEM. I THINK GOVERNMENT SHOULD MAKE MORE ZOOS AND FARMS FOR ANIMALS WHERE ANIMALS LIVE SAFELY AND GET PROPER FEED.

Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.0
The response addresses the prompt by taking a clear, albeit somewhat unconventional, stance that animals should be kept in zoos rather than left in the forest. The student attempts to extend ideas regarding safety, animal care, and educational benefits. However, the development of these ideas is limited and at times repetitive, reflecting a Band 5.5 to 6.0 performance. For instance, the points about animals being safe from hunters and getting food on time are stated multiple times without deep elaboration. While all parts of the task are addressed, the arguments lack sophisticated development, leaning towards over-generalisation and slightly simplistic reasoning, particularly in the body paragraphs.
Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.0
The essay displays a coherent overall arrangement with clear paragraph breaks separating the introduction, body points, and conclusion. Cohesive devices such as 'IN ADDITION TO THIS', 'FURTHERMORE', and 'ON THE OTHER HAND' are utilised to signal shifts in logic, though they are sometimes mechanical or overused. Referencing is occasionally unclear, such as the sudden shift to discussing cows on roads in the final body paragraph, which disrupts the logical progression. Paragraphing is present and generally appropriate for structuring the response, earning a solid Band 6 for organisational flow.
Lexical Resource — Band 5.0
The vocabulary used is adequate for the task, allowing the student to express their basic opinions on animal welfare and zoos. However, there are numerous word choice, spelling, and collocation errors, such as 'CONTEMPARY', 'INTEAD', 'TAKE CARE' used as a noun phrase instead of 'care', and 'ATTARCTION PLACES'. Less common vocabulary is attempted with varied success, and spelling mistakes like 'ADDTIONELY' occur. Because these errors do not severely impede overall communication, the lexical profile fits the Band 5 descriptors well.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 5.0
The writer attempts a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, but grammatical accuracy is weak throughout. There are frequent errors in verb forms, articles, and prepositions, such as 'ANIMALS SHOULD KEEP IN THE ZOOS', 'IF THE ZOOS WILL CLOSED', and 'ANIMALS FEEL FEAR FROM BIG ANIMALS'. Punctuation is also inconsistent, particularly with spacing and capitalization (the entire essay is in uppercase). These errors require the reader to occasionally puzzle over the exact meaning, placing this performance firmly at Band 5.
