Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you disagree with closing zoos, and you give two relevant reasons—protecting endangered animals and helping children learn. The elephant example from Pakistan adds useful support, including the small number remaining and breeding efforts. However, the ideas are only partly developed: explain more clearly how zoos protect animals from threats in the wild, and why education through zoo visits is especially valuable. The response also does not fully explore the claim that animals no longer need to be kept in zoos or acknowledge any concerns about captivity. The required minimum of 250 words is not met, which limits the opportunity to develop your argument. A fuller response should address the opposing view and support each main point with explanation or a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your disagreement, followed by reasons and examples. The elephant example is placed alongside the conservation point, and the school-trip details support your educational argument. However, the overall progression is limited because the main ideas are crowded into one long body paragraph, while the brief final sentence does not provide a conclusion. Connections between points are sometimes unclear; for example, “meanwhile” does not clearly show how breeding relates to the need for zoos. Repeated references to “zoo” also make the writing feel repetitive. Use separate paragraphs for conservation and education, link each example explicitly to its point, and finish by restating your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “shelter,” “breed,” “preserving,” and “features,” which helps communicate your ideas about conservation and education. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are inaccurate or repeated, sometimes making meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “zoo existance,” “their presence in this society will be deminish,” and “near to distimct”; the intended meanings are not always clear. There are also spelling errors such as “socities,” “specicies,” and “goverment.” Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “endangered species,” “captive breeding,” and “wildlife conservation” would help express your argument clearly and appropriately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple statements and longer sentences, such as the sentence beginning “For example there are very few elephants left in pakistan,” but control is inconsistent. Errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur frequently: “Zoo are essential part” needs a plural subject and an article, while “animals who needs” has incorrect agreement. In “if they are not keep at safe place,” the passive verb form and article are missing. Several sentences run together, and punctuation and capitalisation are unreliable, as in “In my essay i will explain my point of view .” These errors can make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using controlled clauses.
