Student answer (Band 5.0)

It is widely believed that animals should not have been kept in cages, so this practice should be banned. I completely agree with this perspective becuase of cruality behaviour that practiced by caretakers in zoos and also this put threats to the ecosytems.

Firstly, becuase of tight space in production factories animals whould have to suffering from several issues. For animals like chikens and cows are forcefully packed in close tight space due to large amount of production requirements of meat. As a result, the production quality reduced becuase of suffocation and not able to move for better health and fitness, which resulted into death in most of the cases. For example, in large production facilities chiken stored in small cage to fit massive population in able to meet satifaction of quantities requiments of meat. Therefore, this type of cruelty shows that cages should need to be closed.

Secondly, it is threntens to ecosytems on both its prey and predators. To illustrate, if people using more animals to kept in large production, the wildlife would not able to feed themselves because they need meat in nutrition. For instance, Creature such as lion is only survive into forest becuase they are dependent on dears. So, by filling more animals for finance, people are making problems on ecosytem to sustain in eco- forest. Hence, Zoos should be banned or reduced the number of prey they used.

To conclude, I completely agree that zoos should be closed because of animals may suffer from confinement and cruel treatment. Furthermore, keeping animals in captivity may prevent them from developing the survival skills needed in the wild, which can negatively affect ecosystems and the balance between predators and prey. Government can implement certain limitations on uses of animals or closed such zoos, who follows unfair practice.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

Your position is clear in the introduction and conclusion: you agree that zoos should close, and you give two reasons related to animal suffering and ecosystems. However, the response only partially addresses the specific question because much of the first body paragraph discusses chickens and cows in meat-production facilities rather than animals kept in zoos. The ecosystem argument is also unclear: the link between captive animals in zoos and wild predators’ access to prey is asserted but not explained. The conclusion introduces survival skills, a relevant point, but it is not developed in the body. To strengthen the response, keep each reason directly focused on zoos and explain it with a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. These markers help readers follow the broad direction of the argument. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because the examples do not clearly support the point about zoos. For instance, the discussion moves from factory farming to ecosystem effects without establishing the connection, and “Hence, Zoos should be banned or reduced the number of prey they used” combines two different conclusions. Some linking phrases, such as “As a result” and “Therefore,” are used mechanically. Build each paragraph around one clear zoo-related claim, then explain and illustrate it before moving to the next point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “confinement,” “caretakers,” “predators,” “ecosystems,” and “survival skills,” which helps communicate your general position. However, the range is limited and many spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make parts of the argument difficult to understand. Examples include “cruality behaviour,” “threntens,” “satifaction of quantities requiments,” and “animals to kept.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “production quality reduced” and “filling more animals for finance.” These errors sometimes obscure the intended meaning, particularly in the body paragraphs. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “animal welfare,” “confined in small enclosures,” and “disrupt the balance of ecosystems,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use some simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses beginning “As a result” and “because,” and a conditional structure with “if.” However, attempts at longer sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make several ideas hard to follow. For example, “For animals like chikens and cows are forcefully packed” has an incomplete construction, while “the wildlife would not able to feed themselves” is missing a verb form. There are also problems with agreement and sentence structure in “Creature such as lion is only survive.” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add subordinate clauses. Check verb forms, articles, and agreement before using longer constructions.
