Student answer (Band 6.0)
In recent years, visiting zoos or parks has become a trend for individuals.Every year thousands of people visit the parks to see the animals. However, some folks argue that animals should not be kept inside the zoos and , animal parks should be permanently closed. I strongly disagree with this statement and I will elaborate that in the upcoming paragraphs.
To commence with, once animals shifts from the parks and leave to the forest, it can be dangerous for them. For instance, they are use to live without any hunting skills. Over the time , they have forgot that how to hunt for their survival. If they replace from zoos to jungle, they might become a prey for other animals . Thus, replacing animals from zoos to forest can become a disaster decision.
Furthermore, wildlife parks are big revenue for a nation. A news article revealed that in the last five years wildlife tourism has contributed ten millions dollars to the government by selling zoos tickets. Thus, government earned big profit from zoos , which is a significant thing for run an economy. Secondly, there are a few endangered animals which should always kept in the parks otherwise, our next generation will not able to watch a few beautiful animal species.
In conclusion, there is no need to kept animals outside of the wildlife parks. Zoos are better for the animals because replacing them from zoos to jungles can become a life threat for them. Parks also plays a crucial role to run a country economy as well.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly disagree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: animals raised in zoos may struggle to survive if released, zoos can generate tourism income, and they may help protect endangered species. These points address the question, and the example of tourism revenue adds some support. However, the argument about release is presented broadly, without distinguishing animals that could be rehabilitated from those that cannot, and the conservation point is asserted rather than explained with an example. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with clearer explanation and specific evidence, and address more directly whether zoos should be closed or improved.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Sequencing phrases such as “To commence with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. The progression is generally understandable, but some linking is mechanical, and “Secondly” appears within the second body paragraph without a clear relationship to the preceding point. References such as “this statement” and “them” are understandable, though the ideas could connect more smoothly. For stronger progression, organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it, and then give its example; use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “endangered animals,” “wildlife tourism,” “hunting skills,” and “survival.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “permanently closed” and “significant.” However, several word choices and collocations are noticeably inaccurate or unnatural, including “animals shifts,” “replace from zoos,” “disaster decision,” and “big revenue.” Repetition of “zoos,” “animals,” and “parks” also limits flexibility. These choices do not prevent the reader from following your position, but they make parts of the argument less precise. Build a wider range of natural collocations for conservation, animal welfare, and tourism, and check word forms and phrasing when editing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “If they replace from zoos to jungle, they might become a prey” and a relative clause in “animals which should always kept in the parks.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors occur in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For example, “animals shifts” should have subject–verb agreement, while “they have forgot that how to hunt” has an incorrect verb form and clause pattern. There are also punctuation and spacing problems, such as the comma before “animal parks” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise accurate past and present forms, agreement, and article use, then proofread each sentence for punctuation.
