Student answer (Band 5.0)

In recent years, this has become a considerable comman topic among people. Some believe that zoos should be closed because it is a cruelty towards animals. This essay will discuss why I partially agree with this statements.

On the one hand, having zoos helps in gaining knowledge about animals. we gets a live exposure to watching animals in zoos. For example, schools will teach students practically about animals Such as animals look and appearance, eating habits and what they do for living. Because only gaining knowledge by books will not boarden students horizons.

On advantage of not closing zoos is increase tourism and goverment can earn from foreign tax. For instance, at the time of vacation lots of tourist come from different places to watch famous places in which zoological park also included in list. When tourist by tickets govement use those taxes for animals foods and medications. As a result, Its encourage tourists and profits for goverment.

In conclusion, tourism and practical knowledge will decrease when zoos close. However. If citizens show humanely nature towards animals in zoos like Provide proper foods and medications than there is no harm to open zoos for knowldege and entertainment for tourist.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You give a relevant, partly supportive position: the introduction says you “partially agree,” and the body explains educational and tourism benefits of keeping zoos. These points address the topic, but the response only partially develops the question of whether zoos should be closed. The claim that zoos are cruel is mentioned but not examined, and the conclusion shifts to conditions under which zoos may remain open without clearly weighing the opposing view. Examples, such as school visits and tourist ticket revenue, are relevant but need fuller explanation. The response is also 53 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons and support your position. Explain what safeguards zoos need and why these outweigh, or do not outweigh, concerns about animal welfare.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

Your response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraph beginning “On the one hand” presents an educational reason, while the next paragraph introduces tourism, so the reader can identify your main points. However, progression between ideas is sometimes unclear: “On advantage of not closing zoos” is an awkward transition, and the conclusion introduces humane treatment without developing it in the body. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, including “For example,” “As a result,” and “However” used in ways that do not always show the precise relationship between ideas. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph focus on one reason, linking examples directly to the claim, and ensuring the conclusion summarises the position established earlier.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “live exposure,” “tourism,” “zoological park,” and “medications,” which helps communicate your main ideas. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation, and spelling errors make parts of the response difficult to interpret. For example, “foreign tax” does not clearly express the intended income from visitors, and “animals foods” is not a natural phrase. There are also misspellings such as “comman,” “goverment,” “boarden,” and “knowldege.” Aim to use accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary for animal welfare, conservation, and visitor income would help you explain the issue with greater clarity and variety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentences, including a reason clause with “because” and an example introduced by “For instance.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. In “we gets a live exposure,” the subject and verb do not agree; “schools will teach students practically about animals Such as animals look and appearance” has faulty sentence construction and punctuation. The final sentence beginning “If citizens show…” is also difficult to follow because its conditional structure and main clause are not clearly formed. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, for example “we” after a full stop and “However.” used as a fragment. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from clear main clauses.
