Student answer (Band 5.5)

When we talk about freedom it should apply on every live being. Animals has also emotions, and they have right to live their life freely. But we kept them in zoos for our entertainment that is not fair. I am compeletly agree with given statement that we should free all anumals from zoos. I am going to discuss about this topic blow.

Animals have emotions as human have they can feel pain , joy, sad and hunger altho they are also part of our eco system. In the back time, human make zoos for individuals entertainment but nowadays we have alot of other surces to entertaion our self. Its also effects wild life when we caugh animals for zoos . Some special species population being reduce as campare to past daceds because there are many type of animals who live with only one patner whole life.

There are many wild animal who threaten for humans even then they are in cages. Last week , I saw a news where one person fall down in lion's cage and lose his life. some times wild animals broke their cages and curse other animals or humans.

In conclution, Nowadays we have engough platforms for our entertainment . Collages and universties have 3D technologies for their students. People are also less intrested to visit zoos. People in powers should close zoos and free all animals, and let them back in forests.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you completely agree that zoos should close, and you give relevant reasons, including animal freedom, entertainment alternatives, and risks involving escaped animals or people entering enclosures. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because several points are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that some species decline because they have one lifelong partner is unclear and does not show how zoos cause this. The news story is also brief and its relevance to closing zoos could be made more explicit. The response is 237 words, below the required 250. To strengthen the argument, explain each main reason with a clear cause-and-effect link and a specific supporting example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main position is stated early and repeated in the conclusion, which helps the reader follow your overall view. However, progression within the body paragraphs is uneven. The second paragraph moves from animal emotions to entertainment, then to species decline, without clearly connecting these points. The next paragraph introduces danger to humans and a news story, but the link between this example and the argument for closing all zoos needs to be explained. Some linking phrases, such as “In the back time” and “In conclusion,” signal organisation, but transitions between ideas are limited. Group related reasons together and use clear references and linking sentences to show how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “freedom,” “emotions,” “cages,” “wild life,” and “species,” so the reader can understand the general subject and your viewpoint. However, the range is limited, and frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word choices sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. Examples include “compeletly,” “anumals,” “entertaion,” and “threaten for humans.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “individuals entertainment” and “people in powers.” Aim to learn accurate collocations for this topic and check spelling carefully. More precise terms such as “animal welfare,” “captivity,” and “conservation” would help you express your reasons more clearly, provided you use them accurately.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic sentence patterns, agreement, articles and verb forms. For example, “Animals has also emotions” should use a plural verb and a more natural structure, while “they have right” needs an article. In “human make zoos,” the verb form and number are incorrect, and “Some special species population being reduce” lacks a complete, accurate clause. Punctuation also needs attention, particularly spacing before commas and sentence starts after full stops. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with clauses using “because,” “although” and “which.”
