Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nature plays a vital role in the human life. It is often argued that, we no longer need to have animals in zoos. Therefore, zoos should be closed. I completely disagree with the aforementioned issue of the concern as zoos are source of income and more safer place to survive.

To embark with the first reason, zoos are live income source of nation. To elaborate, due to different species in the wildlife park, people spend money to enjoy nature with their lovedones. . Moreover, these places are more attractive for tourist, which is beneficial for not only animal parks but also local business. Many individuals get job opportunity and vendors get chance to expand their business nationally and internationally. For example, a renowned "Gir Animal Park" in India, anually earned lots of money from zoo and offers employement to the locals.

Additionally, animals are part of natural life cycle. In fact they are feel more safe in the wildparks. To explain, due to more infrastructure, many engineers vanish forest for the construction purpose. Thus, nowadays less places are available for animals to stay. Furthermore, small species such as rabbits and deers are chance to get prey by wild animals. So, for the safety of both types of animals zoos are best location to keep alive. Moreover, there are chance to extiction of some types of species, so keeping them for our next generation animal parks are best place.

To conclude, even though maintainance cost might high for animal park, there are more advantages of having zoo.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely disagree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: zoos can support local income and employment, and they may protect animals where habitats are shrinking or species face extinction. The Gir example also helps make the economic point more concrete. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For instance, the claim that zoos are “more safer” for animals is broad, and the discussion of prey animals does not clearly show why zoos are preferable to protecting them in their natural habitats. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation of how it supports keeping zoos open, and acknowledge the opposing view before responding to it.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To embark with,” “Additionally,” and “To conclude” help signal the stages of the argument. Within paragraphs, however, connections can feel mechanical, particularly through repeated “Moreover” and “To explain.” Some references are also unclear: “both types of animals” does not specify which groups are meant, and the shift from habitat loss to prey animals needs a more explicit link. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation clearer. This would create smoother progression while preserving the effective paragraph structure.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “species,” “infrastructure,” “extinction,” and “local business,” and the main ideas are generally understandable. However, noticeable word-choice, collocation, word-form, and spelling problems sometimes make the meaning less natural or precise. Examples include “live income source,” “more attractive for tourist,” “chance to get prey,” and “anually earned.” Some expressions are also repeated, such as “best place” and “Moreover.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary for conservation and economic benefits would help you express the argument with greater clarity and flexibility.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “as,” “which,” and “so,” and the overall meaning can usually be followed. Some grammatical errors remain, especially with articles, agreement, verb forms, and sentence construction. For example, “zoos are source” needs an article, “they are feel more safe” has an incorrect verb pattern, and “there are chance” does not agree in number. The opening also has an unnecessary comma after “argued,” while the sentence containing “For example” is interrupted by stray punctuation. Review subject–verb agreement, article use, and complete sentence structure, then proofread punctuation. Greater accuracy in these areas would make your varied sentences easier to read.
