Student answer (Band 5.5)

In modern era, people argue that zoo should be closed and there no need to kept the animals in zoo. I tollay agree with this viewpoint because they also deserve the freedom and internet made it easy to know about the wild life.

The first reason is Freedom. To specificly, Everyone deserve the free life even its human or animals. when animals are kept in cages in zoos ,they feels like they are in prison and unable to live their life like other animals those are in forest. In addition, They also have families and friends with whom they want to play and spend their life. Therefore, there no need to kept them in zoo.

Moreover, when animals are in zoo, It will effect their mental health as well as physical one becasue the environment of zoo is controlled by humans. this will also effect the ecosystem or food chain. some time animals are not taken care properly, they have been use for profit.

Another reason is technology. To be more precise, if animals are keep in the zop for human to know about them then there no need beacuse on internet know they can got the all information about all animal even those are extinct. As a result, its not required.

In conclusion, Keeping the wild life away from their natural habitate is cruel. everyone deserve the free life. Due to techonlogy it easier for people to learn about animals and it also help the animals to live in forest.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that zoos should close, and you give relevant reasons concerning animals’ freedom, their welfare, and the availability of online information. The conclusion also returns to your main view. These points address the question, but they are not all developed equally. The discussion of freedom includes a little explanation about cages and social bonds, while the claims that zoos harm ecosystems and that animals are used for profit are introduced without examples or explanation. The technology argument would be stronger if you explained why online information is an adequate substitute for seeing animals in person. Develop each main reason with a specific example or clearer supporting detail.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs for reasons, and a conclusion. The sequence from freedom to welfare and then technology is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Moreover,” “Another reason,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation for coherent organisation and shows some of the stronger progression expected at the next level. However, the links between some claims are not fully explained: for example, the statement that zoo conditions affect the ecosystem or food chain appears without a clear connection to the preceding point. Some transitions are also formulaic. Make the relationship between each supporting idea explicit, and use referencing and linking phrases more naturally.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a range of relevant topic vocabulary, including “freedom,” “cages,” “mental health,” “ecosystem,” “food chain,” and “extinct,” so the reader can understand your main arguments. However, the range is limited and several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, such as “tollay,” “specificly,” “habitate,” and “techonlogy.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, including “they feels like they are in prison” and “on internet know they can got the all information.” These errors sometimes make the reader work to interpret your meaning. Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing natural collocations, such as “access information online” and “live in their natural habitat,” rather than relying on repeated general phrases.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a conditional-style explanation beginning “if animals are kept in the zoo.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors occur across the response and sometimes make sentences difficult to process. Examples include “there no need to kept,” “Everyone deserve,” “they feels,” and “if animals are keep”; these show problems with verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly after full stops and around commas. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement and verb forms before adding more complex clauses. For example, write “animals deserve freedom” and “there is no need to keep them in zoos.”
